THEY WOULD GET A BILL IN THE MAIL WHICH, IF UNPAID, WOULD BE PUT OUT FOR COLLECTIONS, and jammed onto the poor thing's credit file... anybody know it this is True? I think most people/cultures/countries have been like this, at least in their earliest stages of development. What has happened is that this level of care for others gets reflected at increasingly higher levels in the society, as the measure of wealth increases. There seems to be limits as to what a society can support (especially if all parts are not participating on an equal basis).
