LostItAll
cyclist, Love your avatar, I haven't thought about Mr Lamont for quite a while, It brings back memories. (Profitable ones!) Tanks! Don'tcha just love his chubby little face? I can't decide whether I like him or not. He and his dominatrix imposed interest rate policies that lost me a lot of money and a big chunk of my credit reputation But.... The experience introduced me to a gal called Prudence. We've been dating ever since. Tanks Lawson! Under Austrian economic thinking, what they did was arguably right. IE, flush out the crap, the weak, the over-bought, the over-indebted... Right now Lawson's particularly relevant to Greenspan. Lawson tried to maintain an over-valued currency - Sterling - and lost, costing the country an arm and a leg while enriching speculators (particularly Soros). I wonder if Greenie has read any of Soros's comments about that time? I don't think so! I think he should. LostItAll
Fartpolio Manager
this just in: Pfizer Corp. (PFE) is making the announcement today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as-is or as a mixer, under the name: "Mount and Do." Pepsi's proposed ad campaign suggests: "It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one." Recommendation: BUY PFE

BarBu
Bill Gross coming up on Crapolavision. Always worth a listen, you can always shut it off afterwards. PIMCO Total return PTTRX has experienced a mini crash last week (exit dividend day), in a single day it plunged from $10.9 to $10.55, a 3.21% loss, the kind perofrmance only found in Nasdaq. William Gross say little about it.
Contrarian
getting greedy again - could have closed scalp Q dong to break-even but only raised stop to latest entry ( 25.00 )- 5min sto showing possible turn up but could be a headfake in a continuing down trend - at least my loss on the day is capped at earlier ( minor ) loss - now we'll see what the opex volatility may bring
DrStool
Except for the opening hour histrionics, the market is actually conforming fairly well to last night's cycle map, amazingly enough. cmap on this little move is 893 +/-. mjkst27
from memory, "Merlin" predicted this week's action fairly true to form. How he dos this, I have no idea. (I wonder if Viper and Goose are good at this also) In any event, if he finishes out the week on target, we'll see big down this afternoon, then big ups tomorrow. Goldmember
Rog- Have you looked at this release that our intrepid pork roaster Merciless was kind enough to link over to the Federal Reserve. A warning shot across the bow for what banks? Blame it all on the accountants like Arthur Anderson? Arthur 2 On The Rocks? How many accounting firms and banks will be left by the time this entire debacle unfolds? :shocked Probably should have put this on LOB but we see you here in IDS. rog
Philly Fed index came in at 7.2, up from November's 6.1 and above expectations of about 5. Below the surface it's a little smelly: new orders fell from 11.0 to 9.3 and employment fell from -0.2 to -5.
