Rockhead
Diana Ross Medley I put together some of her songs since she was mentioned. For your holiday enjoyment! Ano, I've said it before....damn yourre good! Damn fast at these things as well. I cannot believe you dont work with the graphics/waves/etc. as a permanent career. I think your talents are being missed by others. Great work man. And...I dont like Diana Ross. Just impressed with your promptness and abilities. DrStool
Rockhead. Trading liquid stocks in small lots with tight spreads, I have never gotten screwed on an execution with Scottrade. Trading the Q's or SPYS I get a report back within 5 - 10 seconds, and am often pleasantly surprised with the price. But of course, we are talking small potatoes here. I would think that with 1000 shares of GE with a current spread of 24.35-24.36, there would be no problem. As a rule, because I am more interested in timing than price level, I would never use limit orders. I either want the trade at that moment, or I don't. It's all a matter of trading style. Doc...I agree to a degree its a matter of trading style. More on this later. Agree that the spreads on liquid stocks have narrowed tremedously....especially with decimalization. Good for us....bad for the MMs and specialsts. Someone just did a segment somewhere on TV on this. Am watching GE right now...24.35 x 24.38, but have also seen the 0.01 spread to which you spoke. Problem with market order is when you click the order...and when it gets to the floor......was the NBBO 24.35 x 24.36 OR 24.35 x 24.38. That's potentially a $20 difference for the trade, multiply it by the buy to cover or sell order to close the postion out and its $40. May not be much to some, but to others its a lot. Scott Trade at 5-10 seconds is fast. Never tried them, but did visit their local office who was staffed by Augie. Only one there. Didnt impress me. But as long as it works for you....fantastic. Yep...its a matter of trading style. So let's see.....we now have have a couple of truths........ ........its a matter of chart period you watch. ........its a matter of trading style. .........the market is post toasties in 2003.
