All Ords spent another day attempting to rise from the dead, closing +0.2%.  IT +1.4% came in on top followed by Consumer Discretionary +0.8% down to Gold -0.5%.  Most sectors barely moved.

Asia trying a little harder: China +1.2%, Honkers +1.1%, India +0.8% and Sth Korea +0.3%.

On to UK/Europe:

This is why I asked the "what exactly happens to the REITs?" some time ago.

The answer I got was basically what you have discovered.

I don't know how to make money off of it, though.

Look!

Margin debt is still increasing!

"it's probably also worth observing that margin debt on the New York Stock Exchange surged to $384.4 billion in April, surpassing the record $381.4 billion reached in June 2007. Margin debt now exceeds 2.4% of GDP for the third time in history - the 2000 market peak, the 2007 market peak, and today."
