So was the minus 150 DOW points the October "correction" and the typical turn-around around noon the sign of continued upward and onward in the stock market and the trashing of the YEN?

Corrections no longer are what they used to be, but then again few things in the market seem to be any longer.

We still need that exogenous circumstance to change the model and overwhelm the Fed+21.  It is looking more and more to me that we might need that comet impact because any other recent bad news just seems to pump the markets higher.

I can see it now, a money manger in front of an arbitration panel.

(Arbitration Panel)Mr Money Manager why did you short the market? Everyone knew a comet hitting earth the size of California is very bullish. Government Statistics show that when a comet of this size kills half the world population immediately that this will only create the need for the Fed and other Central banks to cut rates and create even more sums of money. In fact the idea that we will now be using rocks and dirt as currency because there are no more trees left is only a good thing.

(Mr Money Manager) But Mr. Arbitration Panel history shows that when a comet this size hits earth the entire species is wiped out..

(Arbitration Panel)Mr. Money Manager, Who Cares!...As long as my stocks go up!

(Mr Money Manager) Who is left to buy?

(Arbitration Panel) Son!, This is a globalized society, I am sure there will be some indigenous tribe of people somewhere in the emerging markets that will embrace our democratic values and want to own our US corporations. Get with the program. Because of your lack of any common sense and willingness to speculate by shorting the market we award the plaintiff his entire loss of his portfolio and additional damages for your stupidity and recommend that the Department of Homeland Security pay you a visit to discuss your unpatriotic attitude.

(Mr Money Manager) Buuut, wait!

Retailers in trouble

"Nordstrom said it struggled with much higher inventory levels in the period than it had planned for, a possible sign that its shoppers bought less in the period."

What's the alternative? Shoplifters weren't as active so they didn't lose as much to theft?

My wife was at Nordstrom Rack and said the product line had changed and was now crap.

TNX Big move up.

Unseasonably good weather blamed, funny though that I have never seen bad weather given as a reason for better than expected sales.

Interesting action in the IBB this ayem (Nardsaq biodreck etf).

I've had an $88.50 l/t target on this one for a couple of years. Bonered up over 1% to $88.49 on the open and immediately went red. Looks like someone else had the same target as well.
