beardrech
Why hasn't the Nasdaq "stock market" thought of this -- Social workers in Winnipeg have begun handing out ?high-quality? crack pipes and instructions to addicts on the city's streets, part of a harm-reduction strategy put in place by local health officials. The kits are not handed out to just anyone who asks, she stressed, but are given to crack cocaine users who have been assessed by trained social workers, who in many cases have had multiple interactions with those users. Using makeshift or poorly-made crack pipes can cause oral cuts or burns ... the ?safer crack use kit' is designed to minimize these dangers. It is intended for use by a single person only and includes a good-quality glass pipe less likely to injure users. It also includes metal screens, alcohol swabs (for those users who do end up sharing), pipe cleaners, matches, lip balm, at least one condom and information about where addicts can get help. It also includes instructions on how to use the kit. Ain't jus' blowin' smoke Options Clearing Corp., please copy! Sphinxter
UFB. Not a freaking peep from the FOREX markets. At any point for the last two years, this would have been good for a serious $usd spanking. Not today. Not last week. Not recently. UFB. Something very bad must be simmering out of sight. What you are looking at is reality coming face to face with illusion. Everyone is frozen in place because reacting to the reality, destroys the illusion. machinehead
The GDP price deflator used to adjust the growth figures rose at a 3.2 percent annual rate after a 2.7 percent rise in the first quarter. Excluding energy and food, a measure of inflation tied to consumer spending slowed. The core personal consumption expenditures index, watched by Federal Reserve policy makers, rose 1.7 percent. No inflation, no no Stoolies may remember an article a few weeks ago, saying that Uncle Al is moving away from watching the core CPI, in favor of the core PCE (personal consumption expenditures) index. Today's release shows the 'wisdom' of that move. The PCE stays comfortably under 2.0%. Meanwhile, the broad-based GDP price deflator is up to 3.2%. And even that number is understated, since it fails to include the vast asset inflation in real estate.
