Brisbane Bear
our effing Terminator of a market in OZ just keeps going higher and higher...unfricking believeable...I suspect the invisible hand is propping our market...it wouldnt take much and it would look terrible if Howard got beat 3 weeks before Bush has to go to the polls... The polls for our upcoming election have the Labor party back in front...thats quite surprising...Howard is joined at the hip with Bush and has been playing his one trump card...economic management, yet Labor is back in front....I will piss myself if Labor wins this election...I would laugh for a month .... Captain's Log
Bummer - not getting the time of day of Stool anymore especially in the day. Nice move on IVAN recently. Talking of Lyrics, GREEN DAY have a new album out today. Big song (heard it as a single in UK) is IDIOT AMERICA. Excellent back to their roots song. Don't wanna be an American idiot. Don't want a nation under the new media. And can you hear the sound of hysteria? The subliminal mind-fornicate America. Welcome to a new kind of tension. All across the alien nation. Where everything isn't meant to be okay. Television dreams of tomorrow. We're not the ones who're meant to follow. For thats enough to argue. Well maybe I'm the faggot America. I'm not a part of a redneck agenda. Now everybody do the propaganda. And sing along in the age of paranoia. Welcome to a new kind of tension. All across the alien nation. Where everything isn't meant to be okay. Television dreams of tomorrow. We're not the ones who're meant to follow. For thats enough to argue. Don't wanna be an American idiot. One nation controlled by the media. Information Age of hysteria. It's going out to idiot America. Welcome to a new kind of tension. All across the alien nation. Where everything isn't meant to be okay. Television dreams of tomorrow. We're not the ones who're meant to follow. For thats enough to argue. machinehead
Talking of Lyrics, GREEN DAY have a new album out today. Big song (heard it as a single in UK) is IDIOT AMERICA. Excellent back to their roots song. There's lots of chatter on music radio about that album. But I'll bet American corporate radio (such as Clear Channel, who shilled for the war) doesn't allow THAT cut to be played. Screw the Matrix and screw the media. twignberries
Here's one for the conspiracy theorists on the board (just kidding around Plunger ) Stuart Dead Milkmen You know what, Stuart, I LIKE YOU. You're not like the other people, here, in the trailer park. Oh, don't go get me wrong. They're fine people, they're good Americans. But they're content to sit back, maybe watch a little Mork and Mindy on channel 57, maybe kick back a cool, Coors 16-ouncer. They're good, fine people, Stuart. But they don't know ... what the queers are doing to the soil! You know that Johnny Worker kid, the kid that delivers papers in the neighborhood. He's a fine kid. Some of the neighbors say he smokes crack, but I don't believe it. Anyway, for his tenth birthday, all he wanted was a Burrow Owl. Kept bugging his old man. "Dad, get me a burrow owl. I'll never ask for anything else as long as I live." So the guy breaks down and buys him a burrow owl. Anyway, 10:30, the other night, I go out in my yard, and there's the Worker kid, looking up in the tree. I say, "What are you looking for?" He says "I'm looking for my burrow owl." I say, "Jumping Jesus on a Pogo Stick. Everybody knows the burrow owl lives. In a hole. In the ground. Why the hell do you think they call it a burrow owl, anyway?" Now Stuart, do you think a kid like that is going to know what the queers are doing to the soil? I first became aware of this about ten years ago, the summer my oldest boy, Bill Jr. died. You know that carnival comes into town every year? Well this year they came through with a ride called The Mixer. The man said, "Keep your head, and arms, inside the Mixer at all times." But Bill Jr, he was a DAAAREDEVIL, just like his old man. He was leaning out saying "Hey everybody, Look at me! Look at me!" Pow! He was decapitated! They found his head over by the snow cone concession. A few days after that, I open up the mail. And there's a pamphlet in there. From Pueblo, Colorado, and it's addressed to Bill, Jr. And it's entitled, "Do you know what the queers are doing to our soil?" Now, Stuart, if you look at the soil around any large US city where there's a large underground homosexual population. Des Moines, Iowa, for an example. Look at the soil around Des Moines, Stuart. You can't build on it; you can't grow anything in it. The government says it's due to poor farming. But I know what's really going on, Stuart. I know it's the queers. They're in it with the aliens. They're building landing strips for gay Martians, I swear to God. You know what, Stuart, I like you. You're not like the other people, here in this trailer park. Captain's Log
Mr softie roundtripped at the end... Softie is getting end-user defections in droves. The Apple stores are much more crowded than they used to be. People are also starting to play around with Linux. The last computer I bought was a Powerbook for my daughter. I've talked to 2 people in the past 24 hours who are fed up with cleaning viruses and worms from their PC's, reintalling new hard drives, etc. And we've all got hardware/software firewalls. And they're not geeks...the computer issue is a top shelf nuisance and major distraction. People are pissed at an endless series of excuses, patches and non-fixes. Their downfall will be their complacence to the security of their products. They think that their business T&C's where you buy a "licence" from them to use their software and not an actual product with implied warrenty like rest of real world, will allow them to release any of shit regardless of reliability without repercussions. What it has done is exposed their achilles heal. Once bitten by their negligence, people and companies will think twice about what they are really getting. I also have open office as a way of creating PDF files. Acrobat is also another fecking greedy company that has tried to corner their market by trying to lock down a standard. ShitEatingGrinner
Captain, next computer I buy is an Apple--same reason. No virus problem. I've been through three PCs to my wife's apple G3. It works fine after all these years. Done with microshit. Screw bill gates.

ShitEatingGrinner
The End, I'll comment on DK...anyone with someone named Klaus Flouride in the band is all right with me. I prefer "Plastic Surgery Disasters" to Frankenchrist. "Forest Fire" is my favorite DK song. "Stars and Stripes" is a good attempt at holding up the hypocrisy mirror to Americans. Unfortunately, they've got their eyes closed. Have you heard or seen Biaffra doing the pledge of "allegiance" with Ministry? It kicks ass.
