Weak-end thread June 4-6.

How is Scott Ritter discredited. Everyone thought he was some kind of craclkpot because of the constant stream of disinformation and propaganda coming from the Administration.

Subsequent events seem to suggest that Ritter was the only one telling the truth. Far from being discredited, it would seem that he has not only been vindicated, but that we should have been listening to him, rather than the lies we were being fed.

I always loved the part when on FOX News,...when .Ritter would ask the interviewing 'Botox' Newsreader for his army/reserve number..of course they would never have 1 cause we all know that they are cowards like Mr. Idiot Prince who stay as far away from the battle field as possible.

The odd thing is that just a few hours ago his office denied that his condition had worsened.

From the NY Times:

"The news media reported widely on Saturday morning that Mr. Reagan was near death.

In response, Joanne Drake, the former president's chief of staff here, said, "Rumors are rampant, but there has been no significant change or rapid deterioration of any kind."

Why deny the truth? Bizarre.

Reagan's Health Reported Deteriorating

By Arthur Spiegelman

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Former President Ronald Reagan (news - web sites), who forged a conservative revolution that transformed American politics, was reported on Saturday to be close to death after a decade-long battle with Alzheimer's disease (news - web sites).

. . .

Earlier in the day, a U.S. source close to the situation told reporters in Paris, where President Bush (news - web sites) is visiting, that Reagan's health had deteriorated and he could have only weeks to live.

"I was told it could be soon -- it could be weeks, it could be months," the U.S. source said.

Well, looks like Reuters finally got caught up. They posted the story at 5:11. Way after all the other news orgs.

Foxnews does not have a time print, but it was up at least as early as MSNBC. CNN had it posted at 4:54. Tied with Capitalstool.

We have to do better.

Plunger- Good stuff-keep it coming.. That article in the "Nation" is bang on, there is no defense against hit and run terrorists as the Russians found out in Chechyna. What the Idiot Prince has done in Iraq has given the Wacko's a cause to rally around and an ever growing stream of recruits. The Public had better wake up fast, when you transfer troops from other theatres to Iraq well at the same time delaying regular rotations and extending enlistment times indefinitely (a life sentence perhaps) it means the terrorists are winning and sucking you deeper and deeper into their game on their turf. They know the U.S. can't afford the war and the longer they are forced to stay the more America will crumble economically and that is what they want they couple that with high oil prices and economically America becomes a basket case. Al Quackda and the Chinese must be laughing their Ass off.

To bad about Reagan a good President and a fine human being. Drano the big player in the Oil Sands is SunCor listed on the NYSE, Canadian Oil Sands Trust listed in Toronto is another (I own both). There are currently 5 Multi-Nationals and Canadian Companies pouring hundreds of Billions into expanding extraction from the Alberta tar sands, most of those will not be in operation for 5 to 7 years. One that will be onstream soon and is already one of the largest integrated oil and gas producers is Encana Energy (yes I own that too) all or any of the 3 are great investments for the long term. Stay away from Shell after having to re state their reserves 3 times they are a joke up here.

Next to Reagan the current crop of leaders looks frightfully small.

Like Brian, I own both Suncor and Canadian Oil Sands Trust (COSWF) as core holdings. There are many other ways to participate in the bull market in Western Canada.

Here's a few:

Peyto, Pason, Western Oil Sands, Blackrock Ventures, all trade in Toronto but have local symbols.

Enerplus (ERF on NYSE) is Seth Glickenhaus top stock pick per today's Barron's interview.

With OPEC unreliable and ornery, Look north of the border for friends and energy.
