Guest Icky Twerp
Report from Vail, CO Building activity points to 2004 being a very busy year. So far this year there have been 325 building permits issued, valued at $115.5 million. That's 17 percent more permits than last year and on pace for a record number. At the end of the first half of the boom year, 2000, building permits valuation totaled $374 million. Most of the permits this year - 171 - were for multi-family homes. Only 65 were issued for single-family housing. Foreclosures, which lag behind other economic trends, present a slightly different picture. Foreclosures totaled 136 for the first six months, up 16 percent over last year's halfway mark of 117. Real property foreclosures, at 59, are just one less than last year. The balance, 77, is made up of foreclosures on timeshares. Foreclosures on timeshares typically outnumber those on real or wholly-owned property two to one. The record number of county foreclosures to date was the 599 logged in 1987. The least, 1994's 47.
Guest Icky Twerp
Michigan, too -- who knew? Foreclosures on rise in Grand Traverse County TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - The number of mortgage lenders in Grand Traverse County is growing, and so are the number of foreclosures. Industry officials and observers alike say easy credit is stretching consumers' resources thin, making it harder to keep up with house payments. Five years ago, 38 homes were sold at the sheriff's foreclosure auction. In 2002 there were 119. Through the first six months of this year, 62 homes have been foreclosed, putting the county on pace for its highest number of foreclosures in a decade. Guest yobob1
I have found the perfect contrary indicator. I checked back, based on a hunch, that when I send money to doc, the market bottoms. Doc, when we hit 1102-1095 I will send you some $$. before that I will get net long. Would not be a drain Brian. I could work the street. Hey don't ruin the party! Wait until it hits 100. :lol As to working the street, we've all seen your fanny and frankly I don't think there's a lot of income potential there. palix
Experts say it's a great time to buy a home, but right now in Texas a lot people are losing them. For many, owning a home is the American dream. However, foreclosures are on the rise in Central Texas with more and more people unable to pay their taxes or mortgages. Travis County used to take bids for foreclosures on the front steps of the courthouse. Now there are so many and so many people interested, the entire operation is moved to the back of the building. For the month of July, there are 269 foreclosed homes listed in Travis County and 210 for Williamson County. There is a line at the Travis County Courthouse where each month foreclosed homes and property are auctioned off. Foreclosures On The Rise see, what's throwing people off, is, that they expect the Left coast and the Right coast to lead, to set the trend. . . but this is an implosion. . . Texas will show the rest of the country how Bush & Co. did it with a state government implosion, also -- all in the name of some perverse sort of fiscal responsibility. Icky, these are a good set of quotes. The impression I have, supported by the Texas quote, is people looking for cheap properties are going for foreclosures. I expect we will get to a point where lots of the properties at auctions will get no bids. Then the people buying foreclosures for a quick buck will realise their mistake.
