Anybody here feeling the effects....?

DJ Bush Economic Adviser: Growth Effects Not Immediately Felt

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Stephen Friedman, director of the National Economic Council, said Friday that he is optimistic about continued job growth but admits most in middle America might not feel the effects immediately.

"We think that folks out there are concentrating much more on their own jobs," he said on Crapvision. "There's a certain lag effect before positive effects in the economy get fully understood, but that will come as people see friends and neighbors getting back to work."

Friedman noted that while President Bush is concerned about rising gas prices and their effect on the American wallet, the overall report for the economy is good.

"[The president] is very conscious of the fact that high gas prices at the pump are a crimp in the budgets of families who are working to live within their budgets, but you want to put it in perspective," he said. "This is a very strong economy, and you have an awful lot of factors pushing us forward."

Interesting jobs report.

I have gotten several calls recently from recruiters in the bay area looking to fill positions. All positions so far have been temporary contracting work only, usually for 3-6 month projects.

Pay offered continues to be lower yet with higher skills requirements.

SF Bay Area traffic continues to be good though, not enough people driving to work. :P
