Long Necked Species Index

Recommended Posts

Funny how Investor's Business Daily houses its Zoo Animal Stocks in its "New America Index", which is always prominently featured as to how much more it is beating the S & P 500.

Note that the constituents are furiously rotated in chronic fashion.

Out with the old, in with the new.

No mention of the stocks which were thrown out, like JCOM, STCR, JBSS, HRT, and other bombs which were formerly rated No. 1 on the Top 100 list.

And how about Merrill Lynch's "Focus List"??

And doesn't some tout house have some kind of "Must Own" list for "The Next 25 Years" or something???

Why don't we come up with our own index?

We'll call it the "Long Necked Species Index"

The only stocks which qualify are charts which resemble Giraffes or Brontosaurus configurations.

Here's a start.

Please post any more candidates.

I'll try to build a portfolio of these on Quicken so we can track their progress over the next 6 months or so.

We'll need about 20 stocks.

Here are some of my picks:

No. 1, of course, is TASR
