Guest
Very unexciting day actionwise with only the die hard buyers still in there. All Ords +0.3% with stocks mixed on pathetically low volume. My riverboating friend stuck in 2 non movers and getting restless. I'm just bored. Ed from http://www.signalwatch.com/markets/markets-dow.asp has this to say from the bearish point of view: "Conversely, a downside break from the trading range at 9,535 could spark a steep sell-off within the wider trading range that has formed from 9,230 to 9,675, seen in the 60 Minute Chart. Given that the Dow has halted its advance at resistance, a downside break is implied. Watch the range closely tomorrow: 9,535 down, and 9,675 up." DOW 60 min chart Looking double toppish to me..... Golds are up 1-2%. General inertia throughout Asia as well with Nikkei +0.2% and Singers -0.1%. Going to the gym. With a bit of luck someone will put a rocket under things by the time I get back. Guest
Okaaay, things did hot up this arvo and a few sellers appeared out of the woodwork. All Ords still managed to close up 9.2 (+0.3%) which is right where it was in the morning post. It did go higher intraday but then rolled over into close. A lot more red appeared on the screen vs this morning but overall there were no mega rises or falls on my screen. My riverboating friend's 2 picks finished red consequently he's disgruntled but my put going the right way albeit in slow motion. Golds green with Newcrest leading +2%, Lihir +0.6% and Newmont +1.6%. Not a lot happening in Asia. Nikkei closed -0.1%, Singers +0.3%, Honkers +0.6%. Europe's open with CAC, DAX & AEX in the black, Footsie flat. The brown one
Moanin' from A'dam Aussie: Looks like they may be going for a reverse HS breakout on your chart! 'Nother day of very little while the big boys decide how to keep the turd floating until scam Friday.I would expect a gain of at least 10 points between now and then, just to keep the books straight. Once again, despite all pronouncements of how dire the consequences of a falling dollar will be for the Eurozone economy, the buying in the markets continues unabated while the dollar droops. Somewhat contradictory indicators here. The II indicator has now reached a level corresponding with a top, while the p/c ratio indicates a bottom. So,I conclude that very little will happen ST. Yesterday, the AEX failed to break out of a little channel to the upside(above 320.7) despite 3 or 4 attempts. It did break out a couple of times but couldn't hold and ended at the bottom of the channel on the close.Today we may get another attempt which may be successful with support from the US--who want to break the 1040 barrier on the spoos. All true casino stuff. Yes, I see that Brown One... so much historical resistance in the current zone I dunno whether it will actually happen but it's not impossible for sure...
