soup
I understand the morons are chasing beta, but even if the biz doubled from here ( which alfie has gtd that it will not) the stock prices should be cut in 1/2. soup
of course since it is opm, the morons have never learned. How many times have we heard the semi boys upgraded, and that biz can not get any worse? Over the last 4 years it has been the same song, and each and every time they have been proven wrong. Until folks yank the money away, I guess this will continue. ANd thank goodness, because it has been very profitable fading the shills and the fund morons. DrStool
Mark- true about the split adjustment, but the timing doen't change. The market topped out in March 2002. AMAT continued to triple top until May by which time the market was already 10% lower. Then AMAT did gap down but only by a point or two. Doesn't change the fact the AMAT lagged at the top. To say it is the market, or leads the market is misleading. If you held your longs until AMAT reversed you would have been hurt severely, because AMAT lagged the turn by 4-6 weeks. The same thing appears to be happening again. The broad market has already reversed while AMAT continues to complete its distribution.

( semi equip makers) Until it's proven and believed (there's a LIE in believe) that semis don't deserve a higher than normal market multiple, it will be bizness as usual. And with nearly every fund in the universe and J6P still believing in this"phallusy", you better believe they'll continue to pitch this theme. soup
mgs: 4 years they have sung the same song, and for 4 years they have been dead wrong. However, since it is opm, the morons do not care about losing, they just want to have the same insane exposure that their cohorts have. This will end, but not until the money is yanked away.
