Pulmonary Edema

Recommended Posts

What a day. What a week. What a market. Sure glad SG got booted off the board. It really would have been hard to be confronted with the fact that he called this horse maneuver better then anyone on the site. BEES, SUNW.

BB has moved to stool trading because he was tired of the IDS mindless and accusatory chatter. No Oyster in site today. No Mark yesterday and buddha has made himself scarce.

Still lots of good stuff and good people but all are getting worn. Next week what.

Wait, SG said Wednesday which was 4/29 was the top, with 3-5 days of down to follow. Not 5/1, 4/29. That didn't work. So what now?

He called Wednesday the top, but didn't get short at the close, but said that Wed was The reversal day. He had previously identified 930 as the top, I believe.

Just returned to the office, and once again, I missed some spectacular Riverboating opportunities while I was out in the Real World.

Too many to pick from.

SUNW??

NVDA??

SEBL???

This is no top. This is a veritable breakout. The 924 on the S&P was the last stand. Just check out the massive number of stocks screaming out of long bases. The list is endless.

Notice how the on-line brokers went on moonshots.

Anybody surprised?

Where else can you make 25% daily on one stock??? No way Joe Sixpack can avoid this action.

That Newport Beach couple, the poser at NCEN and the large breasted shrink wrap at EXPE are living large. Nothing can stop them now. With big bucks rolling in and their stock options quadrupling every month, the sky is the limit.

He's just put a deposit down on a yacht. She's just put a deposit down on more Botox, Skin Peels, and Waxing.

This is as good as it gets.

Time to Riverboat!!!

Oh, yeah, I forgot.

One of you Stockcharts expert might want to pull up one of those long term weeklies.

After today's finish, it would seem that a break over the long term trendlines were accomplished on a massive white candle with some decent volume.

Unless this was an upthrust which is reversed in its entirety the next two trading days, I think we will pullback a little to ride along the trendline in order to build more power for the next move up.

Don't know where the money is coming from, but the volume in the Nasdaq came in spades today.

Scottcardiff -- enjoyed your posts, very helpful. Do you think the market will retrace to 860-875 area before a final blast up?

This is a breakout? Not quite YET.

Joe Sixpack re-entering en mASSe?

Not quite YET.

It's amazing how some around here are blown around by every puff of hot air Wall St dishes up.

We'll c whether it's a breakout next week.

Where the H is Oy?

Is Oyster stopped out? ?Is the 570 target still on?

What about SG? ?5/1 was a top, but not the top, with 3-5 days of down to follow 5/1. ?What happened and what is he saying now?

He must have taken the day off. Last thing I remember him saying was "patience".

No one try to talk me off the ledge. It's peaceful out here.

move over a little please :(

Pulmonary edema is also known as 'altitude sickness'. The lungs start filling up with fluid. There's only one "cure". Get the victim to MUCH lower altitude assfASStass? one can. If one doesn't move fASSt enough death may result. Rather like sea-sickness one can't prevent it; one's system is susceptible to it or SNOT. No one who ventures into the "death zone" knows whether he/she will be afflicted by it.

Not shurre if giddyness is a symptom. HRFF can't recall from all the mountaineering training he had years ago.

Hey Guys,

Very interesting how this thing just keeps on keepin on, don't ya think?

I'm a pretty patient guy these days but I'm beginning to wonder how patient Mr & Mrs America are when it comes to the idea of not being "fully" invested in the next bull market.

Will worm street public relations win the day and and convince John & Jane Q to throw those liquid $$$ into the casino?

If they start to we may actually have a self fulfilling prophecy on our hands.

JUST WANT TO BE ON BOARD IF IT'S TIME TO ROCK N ROLL AGAIN, AND I ASSUME YOU DO TO!!!!

Be Well

Blown out of 50% of my position this week. Still lottsa the houses' money left from 2001,2002. Have stayed mostly in cash since Doc's "April high" call of 4Q 2002. If you haven't paid much attention to Doc, preferring other sages herein who are often on target...Doc is better. I know because I've been watching for 2 years (except March 2002, which got us all in a tizzy).

My attitude has been not to play intraday volatility for swaps, but to have a small fixed position in near the money, long-dated puts. sort of a 10Sigma Hail Mary, just in case sort of thing. I had one on 9/10 that sadly worked out well. If you don't do options, which is probably advisable, you might do well easing into BEARX (not RYDEX) about now. However, I've found "tops" (which is where were are AT now) very good opportunities for purchasing puts at a low premium. A put is a true long-side "investment" in the VIX, especially if dated far enough out. If close enough to the money, (I'm at SEP 900), you can easily double your money with a relatively small move and sentiment shift.

Of course, if this is the start of a new up leg, then a VIX going into the high teens from here will not cause that much of a loss. I too expect consolidation next week with another move to 950 later in the week.

There are just too many technical and cycle factors arguing against a sustained bull run, at least not without retracing a fib or two.

Doc will be the first on my list when I pay my bills this weekend.
