For some reason known but to me and Rockhead I've had parrots on the mind since yesterday evening.

This commentary, then, is from the article about hero pets in the December 2 issue of People Magazine and is dedicated to Nacho:

As far as anyone knew, Gem the parrot was a squawker, not a talker. Then on July 22 last year, Ammie, 15, the oldest of Carol and Paul Ingram's five children, was home alone when smoke began filling the family's two-story house in Surrey, England. She froze in panic, but the 8-month-old red lory found his tongue.

"He looked at me," says Ammie, "and said, 'Fire! Fire!' " Ammie got Gem and the family's 20 other pets - including four dogs - out on the lawn. Although badly damaged, the house was saved by firefighters. And Gem, says Ammie, "is looking so proud of himself."

After Gem's timely warning, says Ammie, "we went out and bought him loads of toys."

From "My Controls" I can change the settings to disable the displaying of images, smiles, signatures, avatars... Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to disable the sounds. Hint, hint. ;)

Doc, on the top of each forum, there is a navigation bar like this:

Stool Pigeons Wire ->Stool Pigeons Wire ->Intraday Stool ->Gem

Notice the repetition of "Stool Pigeons Wire"? If one clicks the second instance of it, one is transferred to a table of contents which is incomplete - several of the forums are missing. Is this intentional or is it a bug?

Regards,

Vesselin

The Stool Pigeons Wire is both the message board name and the name of the main forum. Sorry for the confusion.

Back when I was a kid I used to spend interminable minutes staring at the test pattern on Saturday morning waiting for the cue that my favorite cartoon show was about to come on. That cue was the playing of the national anthem. I get the warm fuzzies from the recreation. I wonder if anyone else has the same experience.

Anyway, the setting to disable the sound is located on your speakers. It is called the "off" button.

However, if a majority indicates they do not want the sound effects I will only use them when absolutely necessary. I realize that some people do not find them amusing. (Doc, of course, laughs his ass off every time.) I will post a poll at the beginning of IDS today.

Stoolwethers The cmaps on the stoolwethers made some great calls over the past couple of weeks. All it took was a little patience. Starting to see some early preliminary downside cmaps now.

I'm afraid I am still confused, sorry. Both links lead to very similar pages - which are table of contents of the forums here. It's just that the second one doesn't list some of the forums (e.g., Political Stool, Other Stool, Theostoology, Stoolies Helping Stoolies, Try It Out).

Unfortunately, using that method also prevents me from listening to my Star Wars music CDs in the background. :P

It's not that I don't find them amusing; it's their repetition every time I hit the Refresh button that gets to me.

How about a compromise - post a link to the sound, instead of embedding it in the image. This way those who want to hear it can do so by clicking on the link. And they will be able to control how many times they will hear it, too. ;)

Vesselin

SG chimes

With updated take

So as not to cloud any of my calls, I have not reviewed Doc's anals yet today or yesterday.

STaying with my E waves... here are my outlooks on NDX (Nas 100)

Near term, Im not sure the pattern completed. But lets say it did.

A mild re-trace to 1065 on the NDX from 1114 close last night

Followed by another cascading downleg towards 937 on the NDX.

That would place the QQQ index at approximately $21.19

... However... there are ST gaps at 985 on NDX that ideally should get filled today before this mini rally...

So... Im in cash still for now... waiting for the retracement to reenter for the 3rd leg down

Cheers, gotta run

Bork

"anal cyst James Covello at Goldman Sachs said he is more confident in his belief that fundamentals in the semiconductor capital equipment (SCE) industry have bottomed following a "bus tour" of a number of companies in the Boston area. While the timing of an upturn in the industry is still uncertain, he feels the recent pullback in chip equipment stocks has created a buying opportunity as most companies feel that near-term business is flat or up slightly."

"bus tour"?? Think field trip, turd grade.
