In Aussie sectors, Gold +1.6% doing another day out in front with Consumer Staples the only down sector, -0.1%.

All Ords faded a touch to finish -0.1%. Gold +2.3% remained strong with IT next, +0.8%. At the other end, Utilities -1.1% and Consumer Staples -0.5%.

Long ago and far away, my working thesis was that investors would lose confidence and sell because of Trump. Up until this point I've been wrong. But the idea of nukular war has a way of focusing people's attention.
