Hunter has put a new tag line on his avatar courtesy of FDR- truer words were never spoken-pls read it! ;)

The devious Frank Roosevelt expressed it exactly backwards, whereas his fellow socialist Benito Mussolini was more forthcoming:

All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state.

Fascism allows nominal private ownership, but with comprehensive state control via planning and regulation.

Roosevelt's National Recovery Administration -- shot down on constitutional grounds -- was a perfect example of Mussolini-style syndicalism, with state-sponsored industrial cartels empowered to fix prices, regulate production, and suppress competition.

"The socialists ask what is our program? Our program is to smash the skulls of the socialists."

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat

SOCIAL SECURITY: Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the

Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised:

1. That participation in the Program would be completely

voluntary.

2. That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the

first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the Program.

3. That the money the participants elected to put into the

Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each

year.

4. That the money the participants put into the independent

"Trust Fund" rather than into the General operating fund, and

therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program.

5. That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed

as income.

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now

receiving a Social Security check every month -- and then finding that we

are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to

"put away," you may be interested in the following:

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent "Trust" fund and put it into the General fund so that Congress could spend it?

A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the Democratically-controlled House and Senate.

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?

A: The Democratic Party.

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?

A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the "tie-breaking" deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the U.S.

Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?

A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive SSI Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it! Then, after doing all this lying and thieving and violation of the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away! And the worst part about it is, uninformed citizens believe it!

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during this 2004 election year!

Sounds like business as usual for the municipal and provincial governments here in Kway-beck. How else to explain our potholed roads, endless plush contracts for harebrained projects.... why IS Mirabel airport located over an hour out of the city and from our other airport?

Same article "The worst immediate problem confronting the United states is not Oil but Natural Gas" write Julian Darley, author of "High Noon for Natural gas-the New Energy crisis"..."Oil can still be easily imported he argues. Natural Gas, on the other hand cannot be imported on demand; it requires planning long in advance....Although Oil will decline Globally before NG, because of the transport difficulties, it will be NG shortages that hit first."

Thank for pointing to that article. May I suggest some Uranium stocks for the future.

yesterday, b4 asked who would vote for bush. last night on dave he asked the audience would you vote for bush, then he asked who would vote for kerry. it sounded like 50/50 for each. we as a people, with our present form of government, are doomed. yes, this is the roman empire. one of the mistakes the romans made was to not pay the military. under bush, military salaries have just been cut. its only a matter of time before generous foreigners stop supporting our life style and our presidents lack of respect for other soverign states. the dye is cast. dharma

normally I'd agree, But personally I'm starting to see this the other way round. By supporting the dollar, the Asians are essentially playing ball with a NWO scheme - we have, in effect, a global uni-currency. Don't think so? If not, ask yourself where the dollar would be if not for foreign CB interventions over the last few years. In addition, there is now precedent for a global police force, as the US military has been expressly used to enforce UN resolutions, without a declaration of war by the US, or even a threat to the US homeland. The cosmic tumblers of the Brave New World are already in place, and we're just mentally catching up to it in the here and now.

11:23am AUG CRUDE TOPS $42 FOR FIRST TIME SINCE JUNE 1

Now we'll just have to wait and see if we get a double top or it keeps moving up. I don't see any evidence of higher gasoline prices slowing anyone down.

Since Westinghouse has been acquired (by whon?), does anyone have a link to

BNF (British Nuclear Fuels)?
