Yobob:  Will you adopt me?

Are you willing to pay the standard $500,000 adoption fee and willing to work 12 hours a day for free?

I've had a very queasy feeling about where this year will end, economically speaking. I stated so last Fall and felt what we would see is an inversion of last year in the sense that it would start out "great" (in data terms) and finnish (or swedish  ) very, very poorly. My own business stats are beginning to reflect this to a degree. So yesterday I took action to shore up my already solid buffer of cash. I unloaded my entire used inventory to a dealer who obviously felt the economy was getting stronger by the second. I made a small profit and put my cash position to a new record. Combined with the total lack of personal and business debt I'm ready for what I think we'll be a very nasty collapse post election, regardless of the election outcome.

I'm sorry I brought up the abortion issue. It is too emotionally charged for this forum. Please start a thread in political stool or LOB if you want to carry on.

The economy now is showing signs that it has rolled over - and is starting to go down the slope:

Weekly Leading Index Falls

09/17/2004

NEW YORK, Sept 17 (Reuters) - A weekly measure of U.S. economic activity fell last week and a separate measure on the overall trend suggested growth has slowed considerably in recent months.

The Economic Cycle Research Institute, an independent forecasting group, said its weekly leading index (WLI) slipped to 131.7 in the week ended Sept. 10 compared with 132.5 in the previous week.

The index was weighed down by a decline in mortgage applicationss, increases in industrial prices and a rise in jobless claims, ECRI said.

The index's annualized growth rate, which smooths out weekly fluctuations, was unchanged at -0.2 percent. But its longer-term decline still points to visibly weaker economic conditions.

"The continuned weakness in a number of components of the index suggests that it's more than just high oil prices that are ailing the economy," said Lakshman Achuthan, managing director at ECRI.

"It's an open question whether this lacklustre growth gives way to more serious downturn in 2005 or we have a reacceleration in growth. We don't know yet," he said.

The difference between Clinton, whom I detest, and this gang, is that Clinton's lies were for the purpose of obstructing justice in private lawsuits and white collar criminal matters. This gang's lies are for the purpose of propaganda, public brainwashing and mind control. These are the tactics of Fascist and Communist regimes.

The goal is to bring an end to the republic and install one party rule. In my opinion, because they have gained control of the state legislatures and the courts, they control the electoral process. The public is simply too disinterested, too stupid, or too committed to bullying the rest of us still capable of independent thought, that the battle is lost.

Eventually, as the system continues to decay and the foundation of lies disintegrates, it will collapse into disorder and disarray. Between now and then lies a long and painful decline. It behooves any thinking American to plan for the future accordingly.
