Drano
I assume the Australia build-up is for anticipated trouble in Korea or China. Closest really safe staging ground to warehouse a bunch of troops. Of course I know nothing. I can't think straight ever since I lent my tinfoil hat to Sherlock. brian4
The Australian thingie is not new. At Puntzi Mountain in the B.C. Chilcotin since the 70's there has been a U.S. Air Force prescence. At Nanoose bay on Vancouver Island Canadian, U.S. and British Subs have been firing dummy torpedoes at one another since the 70's and hunting each other. At Canadian Forces base Wainwright in Alberta the armour of 6 Nations test each other on a regular basis. The Beat goes on!

thesun
The sun, To put Greenspan in the same league as Hitler is abhorrent. Talk to me in 5 or 10 years when one in seven of the people around you have nothing to their name. Talk to me when members of your family will be dying because they can not get medical care they should. None of this had to be. greensin has riped out the heart of the American family. greensin has riped the heart of the nation. every move that greensin does covers his ass, while he takes a little bit more away. I know that people should have known better, but they do not understand what they are doing. And that is just life. but greensin KNOWS everything he is doing. i do not know why this old man is so evil, but he is.

I totally agree with our current gun laws Bearman, stricter is even better imo.. Just too many loonies around to ease up on gun laws. I don't know where you got your figures from, but all the armed robberies locally are done with knives... The majority of shootings are done by bikies or mafia and are generally executions of (ex)members breaking one of their internal "laws"...

mjkst27
monetization is NOT the end-all-be-all. Monetization does not help credit expand, it only validates the value of previously existing securities by changing its owner in an artificial transaction. The economy still needs new debt creation to occur at an ever expanding pace in order to replace all the money that "evaporates" every day back into the ether in the form of debt service and principal repayment. Yes, but why must the deflation be an "implosion of the debt backed by debt system" resulting in an "extinction level event"? We have had deflation before. We have had bankruptcies before. We have had high debt levels before. We have had rising interest rates before. So what makes THIS time different? What will make THIS time so catastrophic? I mean - an "extinction level event"? search me, bro. I was talkin' about monetization and stuff.

mjkst27
Furthermore, once a loan defaults, all those dollars created by the loan continue to circulate. When the Fed buys back loans, that creates new dollars that will compete with the "free as a bird" dollars that no longer have to be "corralled" to service debt no' mo. read some Rothbard

Guest
Hummmm!!! Where is that Damn tinfoil hat of mine! UNCONFIRMED reports that Australian television announced today that a large contingent of U. S. troops headed for Pine Gap. US close to decision on joint bases The Age, Australia - 10 hours ago ... The Pine Gap communications complex near Alice Springs is the only military facility jointly operated by Australia and the US on Australian soil. http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/06/...6460176658.html http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/09/29/1033283389127.html http://216.239.53.104/search?q=cache:qTl9_...+Pine+Gap&hl=en I have visited that location in Australia. It was amazing. From what I hear. It is nothing to what we have built in Iraq. Iraq--you sure got THAT right! And I don't understand why we hear no Iraqi complaints. We are building 14 Permanent Military Bases in Iraq. But the jewel in the crown is a huge communications/satellite base just north of Baghdad. It was started almost as soon as Baghdad was taken. This sucker will enable spying on the entire Middle East. Are these the actions of an invading force that plans to leave? Is this how they/we "win the hearts and minds of the people?" Now how long do you think it takes to PLAN a facility like that? Surely more than a few months, no? The pre-planning for the invasion of Iraq was certainly done a long time ago. We got sucked into a plan that we still don't fully understand. What really makes me angry is that we were supposed to be working on putting the Iraqis back to work by rebuilding their country. That hasn't been done. They have electricity for a couple hours then off for a couple hours. There was a great deal of work done on electric, water, and other basic facilities under the Oil-for-Food-Program which covered much more than just food. Well, we blew all that stuff up in our "shock and awe" approach. Now, the US favored companies are making a fortune on inflated contracts far higher in costs than it would have been with Iraqi contractors. Iraq is a very talented nation, but not by what you read in the Western news. The whole stinken mess makes me sick to death. I haven't yet figured out what I can do about all this. And dont tell me to "jes ferget it." I am comparing reports from the Oil-for-Food-Program and those from the CPA run by Bremer to get my data. Soon the last deliveries from the Food Program will arrive. I find no plan to feed the people who have no jobs or money, thanks to our failure to establish employment for them. My Nation has been shamed and I am mad as hell about it!! Sherlock
