Lee, do you have a link or links to pages which detail the dates and amounts of the Treasury auctions and settlement dates? Or do you too have to piece the info together from various sources?

Also in regard to the light supply the last month, do we know that the Treasury has been settling up the intergovernmental borrowing, the games used to avoid the debt ceiling. How could they and still maintain a light supply?

Thursday Oct 19th is the 30th anniversary of Black Monday.  The day, looking back in hindsight, that launched our monetary  disorder. I took the day off of work to watch the fireworks on old FNN, now Crapvison, which were well telegraphed, to me anyway. Although I knew only 1% of what I think I know now about money and finance.

I called my futures broker several hundred times to get in an order to buy Tbond futures, I never got through. I can't actually reconstruct the reason why I was certain going long bonds was a great idea that day. I didn't know much but I do know it was a great day to buy them.  I've saved the following days WSJ for posterity.

That was 3 days of travel from hell. We were so late arriving in Sanford on the Autotrain, we got a hotel in Orlando. Finally home an hour ago.

I'm sure the autotrain works for you most of the time but as a rule I always opt out of situations where I am dependent upon someone else's schedule and control.  I drive. But then I can be totally relaxed when driving. Many can't.

See this post.  I also speculated in the Treasury Supply  reports that if a deal was done early, there would be little disruption.  WIthholding tax collections helped too. You can find most of the info on this page, or links from it.  http://www.treasuryd...it.htm?upcoming
