mdporter
The Giants yard CAN be a great place to watch a game. But on a cold, foggy, windy night in July it can be absolutely bone chilling and horrible. Sounds like Candlestick Park!
mdporter
It is a BEAUTIFUL ballpark. I know a guy with two season tickets. Quality seats. If you ever make it out west during the regular season, I will secure them and you will be my guest. And if they're not available, I'll secure the two best available seats I can. Jimi what about your stoolie neighbors?
Sudaca
Being a non-US american who has lived almost a third of his life in the US, I am fascinated by both US american culture and its love of baseball, which is also a sport that I have played and enjoyed (I once had the opportunity to swing a bat at old Memorial Stadium in Baltimore) Recently, I finished a pretty cool novel called Underworld, by Dom DeLillo. While not being the central theme, baseball has a pivotal role in it, as it transpires american cold war culture since the 50s until today, beginning with The Shot Heard Around The World (Bobby Thomson's homer off Ralph Branca). I highly recommend it to anyone. It is a bit long though, probably about 800 or so pages, but well worth it. Sorry for the off-topic

Jimbo
From trader joe "I don't really think too much Dennis Fartman......basically he's a hack Doug Kaas on the other hand has always impressed me to varying degrees He nailed the recent bottom, almost to the day, if not THE day.....last week he called the top, of we loose 1,000-1,500 from here, he's gonna look like a genius Here he is yesterday with Krudlow<------ Yep KASS nailed it. THE SEC AND CO-LOCATION So the SEC will investigate co-location of the HFTA's with the market servers A good analogy for High Frequency Trading is very like card counting Just as card counters wait for the deck to be stacked with high cards so they can front run the big cards - HF Traders want to front run the big orders. So the big orders are the same as the high value cards. So the way to reign in the HF traders is the same way you reign in card counting. You introduce more decks (a time delay) and you shuffle the cards (orders) more frequently. How do you do this in a server environment ? Well you put a time delay on the orders when they get to the market server - say 30 seconds, - this is like adding more decks. Then you shuffle the orders randomly before you let them through the gate to the order matching part of the software. This is the same as shuffling the deck. Sea urchin
The NAR should be arrested for lying to the public. That could be the new crime of the 21st century. Almost the entire media and government, plus the heads of major corporations, would all go to jail. The RE selling season is over where I live, but all of a sudden I'm starting to see a few new places pop up for sale. Weird. Nobody lists at the end of August unless they have to. It'll be interesting to see if more places pop up. Same here in San Francisco, along Valencia Street, which is under Noe Valley, which is safe and young family oriented. Anyone interested, go to: www.35Liberty.com 3345 22nd Street (This house has an uneven floor) at zillow.com.
