It's the Jewish holiday cooking I remember from childhood, when our family celebrations would number 40-50 people and a couple of my aunts and my mother would do all the cooking. With our family scattered to the 4 corners of Merica we don't have those any more. And while I have fully embraced French Canadian traditions through my immediate family, I do miss the ones I grew up with. I had a roast chicken dinner and a brisket dinner here that were both so good and so reminiscent of those happy times of childhood, they literally brought tears of joy to my eyes.
