Is This a Long or Short Weak End?

HAHAHAHAHAHAA

I wonder who backs junkscience.com ???

Given Mr. Milloy€™s history of working for businesses who want to discredit profit-suppressing scientific data and his connections throughout the entire conservative money machine, it€™s probably reasonable to guess that his financial backers for any particular project are the groups or individuals with the most to lose - ExxonMobil and Shell Oil vs. global heating, Philip Morris vs. second-hand tobacco smoke, Monsanto et al vs. Horizon Organic, etc.

Let us leave the scientific discussions for another board and stay with the financial discussions. Or maybe we could open up the ABORTION issue on this board??

When the scientific facts are totally contrary to your political point of view, the only way to win the political battle is to attack the opposition's integrity.

It is particularly useful to use unsupported and unprovable inuendo, twisted assumptions, phony logic and analogies that make no sense as the tools of choice in character assasination. The biggest benefit of this trick is that it changes the tone of the debate from one in which the truth is important to one in which only the money is important.

The phrase "it's probably reasonable to guess" is one of the perfect phrases to use in such a smear campaign since it self-endows the writer with a facade of reasonableness behind the trickery.

Once you cotton on to this trick, you start to find it far more often that you would have thought. The reason that the trick of changing the subject via character assasination is used so often is that it is very effective.

Those who hold to their beliefs for moral or political grounds applaud the character assasination. The feeble minded and shallow thinking types can't figure out that the subject has been changed.

All we really need to know is "CCX is 10% owned by the Generation Investment Management (GIM), a investment firm founded & chaired by Al Gore. This firm was co-founded by the former Treasury Secretary under George W. Bush and former Goldman Sachs CEO Hank Paulson." http://www.answers.com/topic/chicago-climate-exchange
