The End
Hangman, hangman, hold it a little while, Think I see my friends coming, Riding a many mile. Friends, did you get a little silver? Did you get a little gold? What did you bring me, my dear friends, To keep me from the Gallows Pole? What did you bring me to keep me from the Gallows Pole? I couldn't get no silver, I couldn't get no gold, You know that we're too damn poor To keep you from the Gallows Pole. Hangman, hangman, hold it a little while, I think I see my brother coming, Riding a many mile. Brother, did you get me some silver? Did you get a little gold? What did you bring me, my brother, To keep me from the Gallows Pole? Brother, I brought you some silver, I brought a little gold, I brought a little of ev'ry thing To keep you from the Gallows Pole. Yes, I brought you to keep you from the Gallows Pole. Hangman, hangman, turn your head awhile, I think I see my sister coming, Riding a many mile, mile, mile, mile, mile. Sister, I implore you, take him by the hand, Take him to some shady bower, Save me from the wrath of this man, Please take him, Save me from the wrath of this man, man. Hangman, hangman, upon your face a smile, Pray tell me that I'm free to ride, Ride for many mile, mile, mile. Oh, yes, you got a fine sister, She warmed my blood from cold, Brought my face to boiling hot To keep you from the Gallows Pole, Your brother brought me silver, Your sister warmed my soul, But now I laugh and pull so hard And see you swinging on the Gallows Pole

The End
Doors - The Wasp Corrected the rueful/ ruthfull typo. I wanna tell you ?bout texas radio and the big beat Comes out of the virginia swamps Cool and slow with plenty of precision With a back beat narrow and hard to master Some call it heavenly in it?s brilliance Others, mean and rueful of the western dream I love the friends I have gathered together on this thin raft We have constructed pyramids in honor of our escaping This is the land where the pharaoh died The negroes in the forest brightly feathered They are saying, "forget the night Live with us in forests of azure Out here on the perimeter there are no stars Out here we is stoned - immaculate." Listen to this, and I?ll tell you ?bout the heartache I?ll tell you ?bout the heartache and the lose of god I?ll tell you ?bout the hopeless night The meager food for souls forgot I?ll tell you ?bout the maiden with rought iron soul I?ll tell you this No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn I?ll tell you ?bout texas radio and the big beat Soft drivin?, slow and mad, like some new language Now, listen to this, and I?ll tell you ?bout the texas I?ll tell you ?bout the texas radio I?ll tell you ?bout the hopeless night Wandering the western dream Tell you ?bout the maiden with rought iron soul

The End
For Captain's log U2/ Bullet the blue sky. In the howling wind comes a stinging rain See it driving nails Into the souls on the tree of pain From the firefly, a red orange glow See the face of fear Running scared in the valley below Bullet the blue sky Bullet the blue sky Bullet the blue Bullet the blue In the locust wind comes a rattle and hum Jacob wrestled the angel And the angel was overcome You plant a demon seed You raise a flower of fire See them burning crosses See the flames higher and higher Bullet the blue sky Bullet the blue sky Bullet the blue Bullet the blue This guy comes up to me His face red like a rose on a thorn bush Like all the colors of a royal flush And he's peeling off those dollar bills Slapping them down One hundred, two hundred And I can see those fighter planes And I can see those fighter planes Across the mud huts where the children sleep Through the alleys of a quiet city street You take the staircase to the first floor Turn the key and slowly unlock the door As a man breathes into a saxophone And through the walls you hear the city groan Outside is America Outside is America Across the field you see the sky ripped open See the rain through a gaping wound Pounding on the women and children Who run Into the arms Of America

Drano
Re all those job cuts: I just brought in the mail. I've never before actually gotten a real chain letter from a total stranger asking me to send money. This particular one is filled with testimonials supposedly from laid-off workers who used the chain letter to get out of debt. Anecdotally that just seems to confirm to me how desperate things are getting for some.

This'll bring you down (Amanita guy): http://www.amanita.at/e/e-new.htm Thanks, Drano, that was interesting. One astrologer had predicted that Bush would not participate in the coming election but not due to death. I will see if I can still find it. Interesting to compare the different viewpoints.
