Let me ask a question:

 

Are we Officially At War?  I ask because I am reading about soldiers that are

not getting the benefits that we would expect them to if we are at war.

 

The UN did not approve this war.

Congress gave some kind of authority to the President so he could at least

threaten.

 

What actually is the status?

 

This is also relevant to impeachment issues.

The last time war was declared was WWII.

 

Congress may not cede authority to another body or branch.

 

Most in Congress have never read the document they swear to uphold.

And most citizens don't know it either, sad to say; or understand that we have to adhere to ALL of it in order to make ANY of it have enough strength to restrain the bloat and corruption... :(

 

 

I see that stoolie forensics-expert Zen is already back up from the blow, and on his hind legs tearing apart the "library shelves" for us... :lol:

Does that mean that we are involved, according to the Us Constitution, in an

illegal war?

 

First of all, this p*sses me off because of soldiers and benefits not received.

Go over to political stool and look at some of the pictures that BagHolder has

posted of our wounded soldiers and their stories.

 

Can you imagine: a soldier reenlists and gets a reenlistment bonus.

He goes to Iraq and loses his legs and can't complete his enlistment,

now the damn gov't goes after him to repay the reenlistment bonus, but

he has no income and cannot support his family.

 

I am a 3000% supporter of of our soldiers and veterans. I don't care what

administration is in power, but we MUST take care of our vets.

Bush has not done this.

 

Because we are not in a Declared War, these kids are not getting the benefits

that the American people think they are. This sucks big time!!

 

If we weren't able to vote the bastids out, then we gotta stop them another way.

George Bush has committed war crimes in violation of the UN Charter and the Nuremberg Charter.

Synopsis: Bush attacked Iraq, against the decisions of the United Nations, and thus violated the UN Charter. Planning and committing a war of aggression is a violation of the Nuremberg Charter. According to the US Constitution these international treaties are part of the "supreme Law of the Land". Bush has violated the Nuremberg Charter and the UN Charter and is, therefore, subject to impeachment.

 

UN & Nuremberg Charters part of "the supreme Law of the Land"

Article VI  of the US Constitution states that:

"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land;"

Because Bush violated International Laws that we agreed to by treaty, then he is also violating the supreme Law of the Land which is an impeachable offense. Note that it says "or which shall be made" so treaties signed after the Constitution was adopted are still covered.

Violation of The United Nations Charter

Chapter 1, Article 2 of the UN Charter states:

3.All Members shall settle their international disputes by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security, and justice, are not endangered.

4.All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations.

 

Bush lied to the UN about the seriousness of the threat from Iraq, and invaded Iraq in defiance of a vote from the UN Security Council. His actions inflamed the Arab world and set a dangerous precedent for any other country that wants to defy the UN and start their own war.

 

Violation of the Nuremberg Charter

Principle Vl of the Nuremberg Charter states:

The crimes hereinafter set out are punishable as crimes under; international law:

    a.Crimes against peace:

        i. Planning, preparation, initiation or waging of a war of aggression or a war in

          violation of international treaties, agreements or assurances;

        ii .Participation in a common plan or conspiracy for the accomplishment of any

          of the acts mentioned under (i).

Bush's invaded a sovereign country that had not threatened the United States and had no ability to do so. Bush had been making plans to invade Iraq even before 9/11.

Edwards was just on TV----will wait for a full count of Ohio.

Ohio election process is shameful. In the 21st century the counting should be done by now. Provisional ballots are BS. People should properly register before the election day - no exceptions, no monkey business.

Ohio and Iowa will not be called tonight.

MI, MINN, Hawaii have gone for Kerry

 

Bush is getting the popular vote,

but the Electoral Vote is still undecided.

 

Maybe America will begin to learn that we are a Republic, not a Democracy,

meaning, the popular vote only counts in your State.

 

Edwards said: (my words) Hell, no! we ain't gonna concede.

 

You can probably see why my elderly Mother yelled at me and said I was

too emotionally involved in this election.

 

I sure wish a few more of my fellow citizens had also been more involved.

 

 

Watch our new Senator from Illinois (my home state) on CNN tonight.

That young man is absolutely a brilliant political strategist.

I think he will go far, but I pray that his time in the Senate will not poison him.

What's the benefit of registration that outweighs the costs ?

 

That pre-registration requirement bugs Mrs. Dozer and I.

 

It means TWO long and fuel-burning trips to town and back out; and two half-days used up.

 

I want to be able to just walk in with my license on Nov 2 and vote.

 

And here in Oregon, they make ya register so far in

advance, it's pretty easy to forget and miss the due

date! :lol:
