Guest
Punters sidelined today while they digest yesterday's fall. All Ords flat, volume light and I wouldn't be surprised to see minor green on the index eod. Loads of supports broken on last night's charts so we may get a small bounce sometime in next couple of days. On the other hand... Golds the best performers today, up 2-3%, nothing to what they've lost lately though. Thanks to the House of Saud, the oils getting dumped like yesterday's pizza: Santos -2.3% and Woodside -1.6%. Nothing much happening in Asia: Nikkers +0.5%, Singers +0.5% and Sth Korea -0.3%.

Guest
http://www.signalwatch.com/markets/markets-dow.asp The Dow continued sharply lower today, after breaking a bearish consolidation to the downside days earlier. Look for an overall continuation lower toward 9,800. Be aware, however, that we could see a pull-back before another move lower occurs. Watch the consolidation range for a break tomorrow. Guest
Virtually a round trip day with All Ords closing +1 (flat). Stocks mixed and waffly. Chances are we might hang around this area for a bit until direction is resolved. Golds hung in, +2-3%, charts look woeful though so possibly just an Dover Sole bounce. Oils continued to sell off, -2%. Asia moribund and mixed: Nikkers +0.2%, Singers +0.4%, Honkers +0.2%, Sth Korea flat and Taiwan +1.1%.
The brown one
As yet, nothing to report here.1% up on opening and already flagging. However, ther is yesterday's 6~7 point gap to be filled sometime. A Dutch soldier(in Iraq) who was injured yesterday in a grenade attack has died from his injuries and the gubmint's decision to become part of the coalition now very much in question.Funny thing about gubmints here is that they are always a coalition but now with CDA as the strongest party together with the liberals(although they are really "conservatives"-the party for bigbizniz). For 10-12 years a socialist(labour) gubmint is in power and for no particular reason the electorate decide on a change and put the CDA back in.After only a couple of years in power they become so despised that they don't get back in for another 10~12 years. The relative lack of debate about joining the "coalition" in Iraq and the "solidarity" with this US admin is going to break them up. Sorry, this has nothing to do with the market as we slavishly follow the S&P!
