MrHanky
It looked like a promising year in the early months for the bears........What a difference a 9 month relentless rally makes. When the markets DO reverse, there will be nobody on the short side, everyone will be trying to buy the dips.

shorty
2010 will see a maSSive rollout of temporary gov't fakework makework jobs producing nothing just consuming more of America's wealth and ensuring that the slight majority of dumbed-down maSSes will continue to vote for more of the same, since they're getting handouts ripped outta their neighbors' aSSes for doing essentially nothing the effect, as planned, is to steadily erode the living standards of the private sector middle class, until parity is reached with third-world poverty levels dollars will become worth less and less in real terms regardless of the level of dollar index vs. other faux currencies real living standards will spiral down the last to be chopped will be gov't workers, they're needed until the end of the game at the end only party members friends and families will be allowed to retain the high-paying do-nothing jobs with pensions and benefits what we have today in the U.S. is a sick alliance between the top 1% and those on the dole in all its various forms people who are productive are punished people who consume are rewarded with goods and services stolen from those who produce this is communism all those who enjoy being on the doles, thinking they "deserve it", will suffer in the end game, but they're too dumbed down to comprehend much of anything, thanks to the bankrupt and worthless public school system which for example in CA costs $50 Billion per year to produce morans (sic), causing a $20 Billion per year deficit instead of a $30 Billion surplus if students just studied for free on the Internet from the best of the best world class teachers instead of inferior local gov't teachers only in it for the bennies and two month summer vacations bottom line is that in a free-market capitalistic private ownership system without confiscation of production and redistribution, real wealth increases, the pie always grows, living standards rise, opportunities increase for all that was America until the mid-1960's in a socialist government controlled system where high wage earners are punished with high taxes and low wage earners are rewarded with tax rebates, free housing, free food, free health care, free college tuition, etc. the pie always shrinks and living standards fall this is America today, we've gotten here gradually in the last 40 years but we're now in the end game only the top 1% will prosper in the end, and even money will not ensure that, only political connections, just like in Russia, where billionaires rot in jail and party members party ahead we face a black-market economy, widespread poverty, crime and despair a tiny minority of bitter former middle classers will take out some top 1% individuals, but the greater risk those individuals face will be from their partners in crime, who will seek to consolidate their control over more and more and more, necessitating the takeout of their rivals who cares what fraudex prices are printed at, it's all fake, all common stocks are worthless and can be zero-printed on a gov't whim or bailed out with hundreds of billions of freshly printed out of thin air "money" on a whim......either way it's all meaningless there would be hope for a kindler gentler society if any moral standards remained, but there are none, those were simultaneously destroyed along with the free market so we face a violent, dirty, angry, poorer future in this country, with the maSSes pitted off against each other in a struggle to angle and grab their neighbors' share of a shrinking pie, screaming and wailing all the while about how they "deserve" this and that, which they have not earned, but can take, if they figure out how to "qualify" for the right gov't programs as more producers steadily drop out and go underground, the pie shrinkage will accelerate, poverty and crime will rise millions will walk away from their mortgage debt millions will walk away from their credit card debt they cannot be collected on because they've lost their jobs, there is nothing to collect but all the losses will be absorbed by those who still have jobs and pay taxes, via gov't bailouts of lenders so the delinquent defaulting walkaways actually won big -- they borrowed, partied, and walked away, leaving their neighbors with the bills CA gov't will default on its debt because it cannot print dollars Fed gov't wil not default because it can print dollars best career path for honest young folk is military, where useful survival skills can be learned for the new jungle culture, or, short-term, nursing, where a decent income can be still be earned, for awhile....long-term only hope though is to either (1) become dishonest and simply marry a party member -- just look away from the evil and enjoy the spoils, or (2) remain honest and work secretly in the underground economy best career path for dishonest young folk is to become party members themselves anyone who disagrees with the above is either on some doles or hoping to get on some doles but of course they deserve it screw their neighbors

I know what you mean though, but I hope it won't be as bad as U R expecting. There's always a chance that citizens will wake up and smell the coffee. I also disagree in that I think a greater number of our problems are caused by crony capitalism than by socialism, although each extreme of the political spectrum has caused its share of problems. Welfare for the rich has cost us tons more than welfare for the poor, although giving welfare to people who are perfectly capable of working and taking care of themselves is wrong, regardless of the person's socioeconomic class.
