  1. Joseph Kennedy and Jesse Livermore, for two. But old Jesse lost his mojo .
  2. One possibility: Those that forced 0.25% on Grandma during much of the previous fifteen years might consider doing the same again at some point during the next ten years? What should one fear more, this possibility, or the specter of persistent inflation? Even in the latter case, if one ladders the bonds (actually Treasury Notes), one can keep rolling into new ten year bonds as the shorter term ones mature, at the new low price /higher rate. And meanwhile watch the skyrocketing Magnificent Seven go ever higher, dreaming of the yachts one could have bought.
  3. I love the smell of resubstantiation in the morning.
  4. That is a very definite possibility. The charts and inflation-stubbornness support it. But I am old enough to remember negative long-term rates, and some openness to them even in our own camp. And the zero bound decade. So, given how hard it is to predict, especially the future, what is a schlub to do to hedge one’s bets?
  5. Welllll doggies. Ol’ Jed made another 10 million today.
  6. I thought I had discovered your secret sentiment indicator. Like the kid who accidentally took a picture of Clark Kent changing into Superman on the old TV show.
  7. Aluminum engines just aren’t what they’re cracked up to be.
  8. “I was a big fan of his during my days on the Street. Farrell never imagined that the Fed would engage in long term rigging of the stock market to only go up.“ Ah, yes, the good old days of stock market investing. Though on a much longer time frame than he (or I) ever imagined, old Bob may still get the last laugh.
  9. I guess there are two ways to look at this. If front-running, that is obviously very bad. But if you decide something is a dog and dump it at work, it is understandable to want to dump it at home, as well. Timing, of course, is everything.
