It is the year 2050. In a large Eastern European city -- one that has survived the vicissitudes of more than a thousand years of human activity -- in an open square in the city center -- there is a rather odd civic monument. A bronze statue.

Not a solder or a politician.

Not a general on a horse or a king on a throne.

Instead, the figure of a somewhat common man, sitting in a chair.

Playing his cello.

Around the pedestal on which the statue sits, there are bouquets of flowers.

If you count, you will always find 22 flowers in each bunch.

The cellist is a national hero.

If you ask to hear the story of this statue, you will be told of a time of civil war in this city. Demagogues lit bonfires of hatred between citizens who belonged to different religions and ethnic groups.Everyone became an enemy of somebody else. None was exempt or safe. Men, women, children, babies, grandparents -- old and young -- strong and weak -- partisan and innocent -- all, all were victims in the end. Many were maimed. Many were killed. Those who did not die lived like animals in the ruins of the city.

Except one man. A musician. A cellist . . .

DAX abvoe 4000, there was no pullback once the round number was seen, some "trading around" here. Aclose abvoe 4000 and real next target is 4215 (62 fibo of 2002 high to 2003 low). Big fat next target is 4460 (38 fibo from all time high to 2003 low).

Becasue of thin volume forex is very volatile today, but nonetheless it behaves quite technical.

$450 in the cards.

1:1 target ~ 450.

Tim Ord says 450.

i like timo, but he's been off the mark for months with respect to the broads.

gold is an obvious long, too obvious in here.

it will far exceed 450 imo, next stop 494.00.

the oracle's hand has been nuetered.

anyone with a modicum of common sense could say " i expect a significant

decline from this next top... "

he's been top calling off and on for four months. looking for this decline and

that decline.

the simple fact remains, it's all bullish until we get the memo, which of

course is for internal distro only.

this lofted pig amazes me to no end, and by all accounts it should be cliff

jumping shortly... unfortunately, that thinking has been ruinous.

418 - 420 has some long term resistance. we may pullback in here, see if 408

to 410 provides support, if we lose 405s it could turn down sharply, with solid

support at 395.

manna from heaven if it does, buying more of everything.

this baby bull will kick the pants off of most t/a folk.

uncle buck appears confused, not knowing which way is up...

nothing is as it seems, the risks to gold are not having any.

i like timo, but he's been off the mark for months with respect to the broads.

On the other hand, in most of the interviews with and commentaries from Ord, I note his weighting on gold. He has been steadfastly bullish while others have been trading in and out with a lot left on the table. He has admitted he is neutral on the broads and looking for a top confirmation. If you followed him, you should have made a decent bit of change on the miners and neither won nor lost on the broads.

Doc,

The Stoolpop thumbnail market overview window actually shows the Russel 2000 and no more the S&P 500 as it did before. Something happened last Wednesday when the S&P 500 window was replaced by a sall ad saying "chart discontinue" or something like that.

Happy new year by the way

personally, i dont' "follow" anyone. he has not been "nuetral" but biased towards

a decline.

go back to september, listen to his interviews on financial sesne.

he's been off base with his decline timing on more than one occasion in the

past four months, same for tnnfn...

gold, as i suggested has been a layup. my pet monkey could have tossed

darts at both the broads and gold... doing as well as the oracle.

think for yourself, it's healthier imo.

I know I'm going to get fired on for this, but isn't this supposed to be: "The stock market message board Wall Street hates most."

So far all the posts are about the POG.

Don't get me wrong. Gold is good. I like gold. I have friends who like gold.

But couldn't we have a few stock market comments?

52 week highs

dow = 10494.92

comp = 2015.23

oex = 550.90

spx = 1112.56

sox = 536.32

trans = 3038.15

volume was light relaitve to previous, we should, ideally see a re-test on higher

volume to push on thru.

see waht the first day of 04 brings, you know the old saying... as go the first five

days, so goes the year.

remember the last "election year" was a huge downer.
