Guest
6:52am 08/12/04 Wal-Mart Q2 earns top, but rev misses forecasts (WMT) By Tomi Kilgore NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Wal-Mart (WMT) reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $2.7 billion, or 62 cents a share, up from 52 cents a share in the year-earlier period, and above the average anal cyst estimate compiled by Thomson First Call of 61 cents a share. Sales rose 11 percent to $69.7 billion, shy of the $70.8 billion forecasted by anal cysts, with Wal-Mart store and Sam's Club sales increasing 10 percent each and international sales growing 16 percent. Same-store sales rose 4.1 percent, amid 3.2 percent growth at Wal-Mart stores and an 8.8 percent increase at Sam's Club. The retailing giant's stock, a component of the Dow industrials, closed Wednesday down 48 cents at $51.63. Hey , your supposed to rollback prices not forcasts. Bottom just fell out of the futures
Hiding Bear
Tanks Sleddog! July retail sales due out soon. Expect more flat sales, which would actually be an improvement from the downturn in June. The Fujiwara Effect: TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP)--The prospect that a tropical storm and a hurricane - or possibly two hurricanes - could strike Florida on the same day is something meteorologists say they have never seen. "It's almost unheard of," state meteorologist Ben Nelson said. Disaster officials are keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Bonnie as it spins toward the Florida Panhandle, bringing heavy rains that could cause flooding. The other eye is trained on Hurricane Charley, aimed at the Florida Keys at the opposite end of the state. There is a rare phenomenon called the Fujiwara effect, where two storms can essentially collide and spin around each other, but meteorologists said that's not likely to happen with Bonnie and Charley. http://online.wsj.com/article/0,,BT_CO_200..._002417,00.html I think that the market will be suffering from the Fujiwara effect after the blows from retail sales and $45 oil. Good trading!

DrStool
Anals subscribators know that the Fed reports the level of consumer loans in the banking system on a weekly basis, because Doc reports on it in the Fed Releases updates every Saturday morning. Each week Doc shows you the Fed's pretty chart, and then tells you what it means. The flattening of retail sales comes as NO SURPRISE to Stoolies in the know. If you want history, read the Wall Street Whorenal. If you want REAL TIME INSIGHTS, if you want to know what's happening deep in the bowels of the financial world before it sees the light of day in the mainstream financial infomercial media, take a subscribatory to the Anals of Stock Proctology! Download the really big stuff when it will do you some good! Not when it's too late, and everyone else knows about it. Don't be taken by surprise! Don't be embarrassed by being the last to know! If you are sitting on the pot, undecided about whether, or when, to take a subscribatory, here's a little more incentive. Take a subscribatory now and lock in today's low subscription rates! That's right, a subscribatory to the Anals is going up, and it won't be just a small increase. It will be a big one, a huge one, a giant one, because quite frankly, current subscribatory prices are ridiculous. But if you GET IN BEFORE the increase, you will be guaranteed today's ridiculously low rate until at least September of 2006! That's right, all Stoolies who have subscribed to the Anals before the upcoming increase will keep the same subscription rate for at least two years! So GET IN TO YOUR ANALS NOW, before the price goes up! Know what's coming down in plenty of time to do something about it. Take a subscribatory RIGHT NOW, BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!
