chibear
I copied your opening and am taking it to the office. Thanks, Glad. One unrelated thought on gold, which I hadn't looked at in a while: if the train had left the station on its way to some distant land, and I was on board, I wouldn't be terribly happy about backing the train into the station to pick up everyone left behind. Doc's thought of a possible year long tradin range looks right on.

simple guy
Ah SG sees the bears have their panties in a bunch once again. Confusion and fuzzy thinking reign in a 3rd of a 3rd of a 3rd... when the social mood is in the middle of a long term shift towards negativity for sure. SG says 25.30 to 25.34 still within the 78.6% hysterical retraces only so prevalent the last several weeks on wave 2 bounces.... SG stubbornly clings to his 200% short position, still in the black solidly on the year even with the last few days of bear rally. Recall that mood swings shift in short and longer term cycles. The short term swing is a wave 2 corrective swing, reflected in the mini bear rally as it were. The long term mood swing is decidely negative, and will rear its ugly head within days if not by end of day today (A fibo turn window, but plus or minus 2 days is allowed). SG keeps his head on straight, and will not allow the fuzzy thinking to effect my intermediate term trading plans. IF we blow past 25.34 this morning... then looks like we are in a large bear correction off the 27.47 highs of Jan 13, instead of the 25.84 highs of Jan 23rd.... Oh, and one other item of note... Astrology is important to pay attention to, the planets definitely have major effects on moods... and mood swings. To wit, this chart below shows the SP 500, its direction when Saturn is direct vs in retrograde. Guess what... Direct begins on Friday this week.... which is DOWN I could be wrong... heh heh

Bearwithme
Fokker: In reference to the 16 year high on new housing starts... I am one of those people hiring contractors etc.. to work on my house. Just like the developers I want to hurry up and get this place fixed up so I can sell it into the bubble!! I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank all the pundits for propping up real estate until I sell my house in NH!!
