nymphcaster
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium Word. I think this is one of the most important issues. You can't make "green" out of a limited supply of an unavailable chemical, anymore than imagining cleaning solar panels with water that is unavailable in a desert (another NPR story). There is nothing that permits everyone to have everything at this juncture. And as a result, a huge number of people have to have a new idea that is called living near work and walking or biking and having small houses, all of which is anti-thetical to the global binge thinking or leverage. A wonderful post on your part. Perhaps others would find other statements with scientific back-up from other sources. Asking questions is what this is about. Rather than accepting media "green shoots" statements. It is very easy to "say green," and definitely harder to do it and make it profitable, even with financing. The essense of green is less consumption and easier done on an individual basis.. Which means smaller thinking and smaller PE's for co's. Reduced to no leverage. Thinking in terms of basics. Cutting fashion expenditures to near zero. Planting gardens and fighting animals over home production with the gardens while encouraging birds. Jimbo
THE GM CHAPT 11 Ive being saying since 2003 on this board the GM would go Chapt 11. The only amazing thing is that it has taken so long. The fact that the bond holders took such a bath says everything about the loose credit environment that kept the company going for so long. The new GM will never make a cent for shareholders - the union will see to that.
