AEM - is there something wrong with this picture?

I've seen worse, but I think commodity stocks have been wrung out to the extent that the risk/reward looking out 10 years is enough that if you had a load of cash and started to deploy it at these levels you might become a wealthy retiree.

Thank you, Dharmaeye, are you related to Dharma?

Here is the chart for this thread

8 yr cycle in gold, stockcharts does not go before 1980, but the previous low in gold was in 1977, 8 years earlier

...and if this is only the bottom of the cycle at this high level...

Related in we are human :-)

He is a better timer obviously, but I'm learning.

Dharma is more or less translated means truth. I was honored with dharmaeye as part of my ordination name.

Found this site and it would appear 8-9 year cycles are common.

I posted this over on M2M, but its probably better placed over here:

Interesting. I was looking over the Fed's H.4.1 report (on a Saturday night - waaahooo) and noticed that they are accepting gold as collateral for loans.

Scroll to the bottom of the report and look in this section:

7. Collateral Held against Federal Reserve Notes

Gold certificate account 11,037

While $11b in gold collateral is pretty small potatoes, I think it's interesting it gets its own heading and isn't rolled-up into the "other" category.

Is this new, or have I just not noticed it before? Other thoughts?

posted this on M2M also:

Just doing some comparison between now and last week in December 1973. What started this was the price of gold.

I think if you look at a weekly chart for the last two years of SPX and compart with last week in Dec. 1973 with two prior years you will be amazed.

Can't get Prophetfinance to copy? Hope someone will post these charts. Like I said fits with gold and suggests 10 - 11 weeks to a top and then a 6-7 month collapse.
