Jimi
Rick Santelli interviewed Hank Paulson in the Chicago pits either Monday or Friday. He reiterated support for the "strong dollar policy." Just in case anyone missed that reaffirmation. Like, Ben Bernanke, for example.
Lemur
As I watch the dollar collapse I get that old Wiemar feeling, but bond yields rocketing higher again. So if we get Weimar, and bond yields go up with with it, stocks will not participate. It will be hard assets only. 609165[/snapback] Look like the inflationists are winning the argument. Other things are purely a result of greedy retailers.

potatohead
DJ Pres Bush To Hold Press Conference Thu; First Since Aug 9 While Bush anticipated questions about Iraq, the president planned to open with a statement challenging Democrats on their proposal for a $35 billion increase in a children's health insurance program. Bush has threatened to veto the bill. The $35 billion increase for the State Children's Health Insurance Program, called SCHIP, would bring total spending to about $60 billion, or twice the level sought by the Bush administration. The president planned to urge lawmakers to send him a simple extension of the program if both sides cannot agree on terms of a new measure. Bush will spend that in Iraq in less than a month.. I guess our children do not matter....I guess they should rename the program SCHIT, because that is all our children are going to get after this hyperinflationary move
DrStool
Canadian retailers are getting a windfall. They are NOT passing along their savings on imports from the US or anywhere else for that matter. Canadian consumers are getting screwed. Canadian residents who earn their livings in US dollars are just screwed, period. Oh well, I could always sell may house and buy something nice in Plattsburgh. Is there such a thing? DrStool
We have our share of long picks in the WSE Pro Precious Metals report. So why do I not feel joyful about this move in the stocks? Is it because I am horrified about the implications?
