"A 30,000 rupee [$690] bag is not that difficult for the upper middle class to buy," she says. "So everyone and their dogs started carrying them."

I don't know if this dog paid 30K rupees or not.

Burberry appears to be in competition with Coach for the "ugly expensive handbag" market.

One of these beauties goes for $1,945 Amerikanski. Of course, you could always go for the plaid student backpack at $795. And if you're really down on your luck, try the "Hobo" satchel at $625.

When I was dating my wife, we dropped into a Neiman Marcus and had a look at their handbags and she saw one that she liked and it looked very classy. It was a Coach bag I think and I was a bit startled at the price. A little less than $1,000. This was back in the late 1980s when that was a lot of money. She decided not to buy the bag (which was okay by me). But they did have pretty nice looking stuff back then.

Fast forward to today when most of the stuff that they sell looks like contemporary housing junk to me. But it apparently sells. To someone. Reminds me of the episode of The Lucy Show when they dress up in burlap bags that were supposedly designer stuff and a real designer copied Ricky's design.

Like to see them dump the SPX down to 1407-1410 to set up the traditional boner run during the last few days of March, first few days of Apr. Now all we need is a terra scare to add the cherry on top.

Shanky-cranky. Buy on the cannons, sell on the trumpets.

Subtract another 100 from that if you want me to be happy.

5 bucks up on Earl makes it tough for Bennie to coyly, possibly, suggestively, seductively, legs spread (OK OK OK gone too far there...) suggest that he might .... lower .. rates

:) :) :)

Loving those SPX puts, ain't we, Cassie ?

PRESS RELEASE: Beazer Homes Responds to Media Reports

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 27, 2007--

In response to media reports and inquiries into the possibility of a federal

investigation of the Company in connection with alleged mortgage fraud, Beazer

Homes USA, Inc. (NYSE: BZH) (www.beazer.com) has the following response.

At this time, Beazer Homes can not comment on or verify any investigation.

However, we will fully cooperate with any investigation by any government

agency.

We build homes nationwide. The allegations by the Charlotte Observer focused

primarily on one Charlotte subdivision, Southern Chase. In that subdivision,

Beazer Mortgage Corporation originated the loans for the borrowers and served

as a broker, not a lender. We were involved on the front end of the loan

transaction process, compiling the necessary information, which we then

submitted to the lender for underwriting review. The ultimate underwriting

decision for the loan rested with the lender.

Based on our internal investigations to date, we have not found any evidence

to support the allegations in the Charlotte Observer.

Beazer Homes has a long established commitment to managing and conducting

business in an honest, ethical and lawful manner.
