GregFokker
As usual, Uncle Al is dumping a load of repos into the Keno Pit. Notice how Gold spiked up once news of the dump was in...... Inflate, Reliquify, or Die It's a net drain of 5B so far.

simple guy
SG dings in with a few comments 1. K Wave cycles... Im a big believer in Kondratieff's theories. And yes, we are in a K Wave winter cycle. Its characterized by deflation, bankruptcies, repudiation of debt, falling incomes (this is coming), paper assets deflate etc.... let the skeptics say what they may.... 2. FIAT systems always break down at some point. Why? THey are backed by debt.... and as debt rises, so does inflation and so do interest rates etc etc...see Argentina, Brazil, etc.... and note the falling US dollar 3. Its SCAM WEEK people, lest you have already forgotten as much. Indices will end the week around 27 on Cubes, 93 on Spiders etc etc.... its how it works. Next week is when leg 3 begins to unfold down with more force IMO, this week is a futile week to trade the indices... SO I JUST HOLD MY SHORT ALL WEEK. GM trades at 8x earnings assuming $5 per share.... seems cheap. Then again, they make cars that nobody will be buying a year or less from now. Finally... Jobless claims.... they seem to change weekly based on who decides to calculate them. Could it be that people have given up looking?? Could it be their benefits ran out and some didnt realize these were restored?? Who knows And finally finally..... the upside wont last long this morning IMO.... will be quickly sold... DrStool
Let's get our facts right. The 28 day repos is a huge drain as GF pointed out. THey can cover some of that with the short term repos announced at 10:30, but they have a looooong way to go. Let's please keep the long off topic posts off this trhead and put them where they belong. I'll be splitting some of these posts into a new thread.
