fxfox
The Runner (1999) In this gritty tale set in Las Vegas, Ron Eldard is a gambling addict who takes a job with mobster John Goodman as a "runner," which finds him placing bets around town with sports bookies. Eldard falls for cocktail waitress Courteney Cox, but soon gambles away Goodman's money and, in order to pay him back and stay alive, must make the biggest bet of his life. i saw this film yesterday. He lost his "bet of his life" and lost everything. If you gamble you will lose. Dont gamble! You will even loose your wonderfull wife (here: courtney cox ), if that film is not enough to stop gambling, then watch "casino" with deNiro, and pay attention to the part of the film when the guy is clobbered to death in the fields. If you gamble and think you are better than the boys than they will rip your eggs off. Trade with the boys, not against them. Just thought it was time for such a post

SupplySider
I was reading IBD this weekend and was surprised to learn that the # short positions had recently been at its all time high since this bear market began. Interesting, it wasn't at the October low. I'm wondering how many of those shorts were newbies who just learned about shorting; or bears who were thinking the rally "must surely" be near an end. At any rate, I'm wondering how much of the current rally is attributable to that record short position being covered.

Guest
This does not appear to be the type of "tick" one would expect from a new leg higher. It is pretty weak and falling.

depends
Adding to my short on Sears here. Holding ROAD, SLE, SBUX, AMHC shorts. No problemo (so far). Holding QQQ shorts as per Sig. Who buys this crap anyway?
fxfox
This does not appear to be the type of "tick" one would expect from a new leg higher. It is pretty weak and falling. i read it the other way: it is just not hysteric enough. This bull-run MUST and WILL end in a monster spike, with low p/c ratio and a tick at 1300 or so. Dont see anything of that right now.
SupplySider
Short positions on what? The ratio of shorts to longs hit its all-time high (during this bear market) well after the October 2002 low. I stopped reading this indicator about six months, assuming it spiked near the October low. But, I never would have guessed that it would hit its all-time high after the October low. Maybe she is having one of the low, slow, long ones that goes on for three months but doesn't rip the roof off at the end.
