71% of Crapvision poll respondents said Kerry won last nights debate.? Assuming as many of 2/3 of their viewers are likely to have voted for Bush four years ago (guessing), that's pretty significant.

Republican "defectors" will kill GW..

Don't be too sure --

Plan A - win fair and square with the majority vote.

Plan B - use black boxes to grab the electoral votes of Florida, Ohio, etc., regardless of actual vote totals.

Plan C - scare the piss out of people with a big bang ... :o

Right on, Mr. Head.

Only Plan C might come before Plan A & B.

Those nervous neocons have such itchy trigger fingers.

Oh yeah, diesel hits a new high again, $2.130/gal.

Plan B.1

If the black boxes malfunctions and award the electroal votes to Kerry, cry foul and take the case to Supreme Court.

Plan D.

If all of the above plan fails and Kerry wins, declare martial law and squat in the oval office.

Good morning, Thread. I'm a little late this morning after our 3 year old nearly knocked out her front tooth. After coming back from an emergency visit to the dentist & getting x-rays, we're now back on track, and I think she's going to be ok.

But the jobs market probably isn't. Claims were up today, and the moving average looks like it's finally moved out of its trading range:

From the esteemed Office of Workforce Security:

In the week ending Oct. 9, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 352,000, an increase of 15,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 337,000. The 4-week moving average was 353,000, an increase of 4,000 from the previous week's revised average of 349,000.
