I have never had the misfortune of seeing or hearing Cramer but he sounds like a demented idiot to me!

Check out

Cramer's Winners of the New World

Mid-March 2000 Nasdaq hit 5000 - after the 1st spike down we got this from the sleazebag -> "we want NDX and not Dow names here...We didn't get enough Red Hots (now the TheStreet.com New Tech 30)...We were too cautious. Isn't that what happens at bottoms?"

Oil still under Ivan's thumb:

On Wednesday, the remnants of the storm kicked seas up several feet, posing a new threat to fragile barrier islands and their beaches on the Louisiana coast, and forced some offshore crews to head home. Three dozen petroleum producing platforms and drilling rigs, idled since Sept. 13 because of Ivan, remain shut in.

on a lighter note...

Follies and follicles - that's life at 40

Life begins at 40, that's what people say, and I think it might be true: I turned 40 almost a year ago today - it's my 41st birthday this week - and for the past year, life has really begun for me. A wondrous, glorious, carefree life... of bad feet and clicky ankles and split toenails and cracked heels that look like the cover photo of a government soil erosion brochure.

A life of scaly elbows and flaky eyebrows and dandruff patterns on my shoulder that look like the Greek islands. A life of shoulder-hair and ear-hair and nose-hair and even finger-joint hair, I'VE GOT HAIR GROWING BETWEEN THE FIRST AND SECOND JOINT OF MY MIDDLE FINGER, and I wouldn't worry so much, except it tickles my nose every time I brush my teeth.

Yes, a fabulous, joyous, blissful life of yellow teeth and pinched nerves and prescription glasses that are so big and heavy, the arms hurt the backs of my ears, so I've had to bend the arms UNDER my ears.

A life of putting on my pyjamas earlier and earlier each day: the other day I found myself getting into my pyjamas at 4 O'CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON, which wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't just taken them off at 3.30.

A life of wearing clothes that don't fit right any more: shirts that hang funny over my belly, undies that bunch up around my buttocks, jeans that just seem to be riding higher and higher each day - by the time I'm 45, I'm going to have to unzip my fly to eat.

A life of eating more chicken, and more roughage, and more soup: I DON'T EVEN LIKE SOUP, but now I'm eating it all the time, slurping up great spoonfuls, mashing solid bits with my gums, making a shmshhh-shmshhh noise that sounds like children wading though macaroni.

Life begins at 40, oh yes I know: a marvellous magnificent mirthful life of endless carpet-vacuuming and bookshelf-dusting and mowing my lawn at exactly 10:01 on a Sunday morning.

A life of watching more gardening shows on TV, and ABC documentaries about marathon monks and getting teary-eyed whenever I see that Qantas commercial with all the little kiddies singing I Still Call Australia Home - mind you, I also get teary-eyed when I see the Dolmio ad, the Maybelline ad and any ad involving the Fantastic Furniture dancers.

A life of night-time bed-action, lying beside my beloved, indulging in some full-on, heavy-duty roly-poly BOOK-READING - holding up our novels with wanton abandon, flipping the pages with wild hot 'n' horny carnality. And on the subject of books, a life of having to lick my fingertip before I turn a book page: I don't know why, but suddenly my page-turning finger has lost all its moisture and grip - it's become a dry chalky stump, WITH HAIR GROWING BETWEEN THE FIRST AND SECOND JOINT.

A life of annoying my kids whenever they're playing with their friends, just hanging around in the doorway, wearing a raccoon hat and doing a silly hopping dance - I think I look adorable, they think I look like the creepy guy who sits outside Safeways with the turd in his front pocket.

Life begins at 40, I know it for a fact: a racy, raucous, revved-up life of being too hot in summer and too cold in winter, and constantly being obsessed with the state of the weather - I used to be interested in arts and culture and humanity, but now I just want to talk about temperature and rainfall and cloud cover, opening every conversation with "Glorious weather we're having lately, very unusual for this time of year" or "Miserable day today, isn't it? - but still, I suppose the rain's good for the farmers."

YES, YES, I'M ACTUALLY LIVING A LIFE OF CARING ABOUT FARMERS.

Life begins at 40, that's the truth, and now if you long-haired young'uns don't mind, it's time for this 41-year-old to climb into his pyjamas, boil up some soup and check out the Bureau of Meteorology's website (bom.gov.au). I hear there's some light-to-moderate rain clouds drifting over Wonthaggi...

Don't know wether many caught it today BUT-Heating OIL reserves are at their lowest level in 28 years rather than a build for winter there has been a drawdown. If you live in the Northeast you might just be chopping up the Furniture over the winter. Also today not ONE Dow stock was in the green today not ONE and when have we ever seen that happen!

Does this make sense?

Long term rates are falling because the spread traders are getting their profits squeezed as the cost of borrowing goes up and are forced to buy longer maturities to compensate.

So this means that Greenspan is intentionally flattening the yield curve to force mortgage rates down and reignite the housing bubble?

Will it work if rates get below 3.6%?

Whatchu talkin' 'bout, CashCall?

Maybe you've seen the commercial. Gary Coleman, the vertically challenged former child star, says he used to be a millionaire but lost his fortune to bad financial advice.

He says he needed money -- fast -- and got it from a company called CashCall.

What the ad doesn't tell viewers is that the interest rate for CashCall loans can run as high as 59 percent, depending on your income and credit history.

"Fifty-nine percent interest?" asked an incredulous Linda Sherry, spokeswoman for the advocacy group Consumer Action in Washington. "That sounds like the exact definition of loan-sharking."
