Goldmember
Greenie is fobbing the whole mess off as congress's fault. Imagine....Mr. FEED Bag critisizing congress for dumping Paygo [sp?] and runaway deficits. Also says supply side doesn't work to perfection as congress has been led to believe it does. While stimulus does occur...in the long run it doesn't balance. Now he wants Paygo back and talks tough on a day he drains the FEED Bag a bit for an anticipated downphase day on the markets. A day he knows he can talk tough.... Of course, tomorrow the markets will be enboldened by some mirage of Greenspan as the fiscal savior...but only if congress plays along. Another interesting point was Greenspan alluding to watch what Congress does...not what they say they will do.. How rich is that..the pot calling the kettle black alright. If Wank Street, and the numbnut financial journalists actually watched the FEED Index instead of listening to the claptrap of rate hikes and tightening by the Fed they may just see the irony of the statement. So Greenie walks away today wiping his hands of congress' own fiscal misdeeds Watch what they do...not what they say How appropriate...and 96% of market participants, either direct or indirect, have no way of measuring what they do.
