=DJ DATA SNAP: US June Inventories Outpace Sales Growth

By Jeff Bater

Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Businesses increased inventories more than expected during June, marking the biggest gain in four years and outpacing meager sales growth, the government said in a report signaling companies are showing less caution and restocking shelves.

Inventories rose 0.9% to a seasonally adjusted $1.234 trillion, after a revised 0.7% advance in May, the Commerce Department said Thursday. May inventories were initially seen rising 0.4%.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP)--The prospect that a tropical storm and a hurricane - or possibly two hurricanes - could strike Florida on the same day is something meteorologists say they have never seen.

"It's almost unheard of," state meteorologist Ben Nelson said.

Disaster officials are keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Bonnie as it spins toward the Florida Panhandle, bringing heavy rains that could cause flooding. The other eye is trained on Hurricane Charley, aimed at the Florida Keys at the opposite end of the state.

I think that the market will be suffering from the Fujiwara effect after the blows from retail sales and $45 oil. B)

thesun back from vaction.

Opened a bank account in Canada. Very good terms. No problem.

thesun lives in central FL. Hot. But am told it will be getting windy. :o

Heard the the oil guys on some of the platforms in the gulf are being taken off.

XOM is closing some of their gulf gas production.

thesun does not know how the two storms are going to cross. Some overlap will probably happen like. Those area's should see flooding.

The 1st storm had no effect here.
