Guest
Plunger.... Add Delta to that list as they are fast approaching the point of Chap7. Too you will find British registerd carriers have added heafty surcharges to ticket prices. The largest jet fuel buyer in the US is Defense at Rack-prices, not wholesale. Hunter65, how does DOD manage their oil requirements? What are Rack-prices? I know they go thru procurement procedures to get it, but who do they buy from? I'm also wondering about the storage aspects. Do they have huge tanks to ensure supply for a certain # days/wks/mo/yrs, i.e., reserves? Do they tap the US Strategic Petroleum Reserves. Its not just jet fuel either, as the military has a HUGE requirement for a category called "Petroleum, Oil, and Other Lubricants. Besides gasoline and diesel fuel, hink grease, crankcase oil, and all the stuff automotives require. I had heard long ago that the game plan was to use up everybody else's oil first before tapping our own, so I was surprised that this seemed like something new. My question has been why wouldn't all the other countries be thinking the same way? Sorry, I forgot. Only people in the US are capable of THINKING. HiHat
END........this post ties in with the Draft alert................... Re: Each Opinion is so Important Today Posted By: Z (138.89.123.198) Date: Wednesday, 11 August 2004, at 5:11 p.m. In Response To: Re: Lets say that a mega-crash happens (Gain) Actually 1929 crash is a very good example of what has already happen. Financial indexes are perceived to be the forward projection of overwhelming sentiment, usually these projections (booms or bust) move six to nine months in advance of the overall economy. Today we have: NASDAQ index ?85% or so. Dow Jones utility index ?85% or so, (and the most important of all indexes to study market perceptions). S&P 500 index ?50% the greatest decline since 1929. The ?over-the-counter wholesale market maker? financial industry -100% it has been completely wiped out within the financial system creating just about the loss of 250,000 Wall Street jobs in total. Several of the major institutions that perform with and the derivatives market have completely collapsed. Just as the stock market barometer the Dow Jones Industrials in 1929 gave its projection of the intended future then, today other indexes are doing the same. The reactions to an event that so many are said to be expecting is in actuality the expectations of only a chosen few within the industry today it is not the opinion suggested by most that either are working within the industry or participating in it. I had proposed a question here and to a few other that are in tune to overall social behavior, if a new and maybe larger terrorists attack was to happen in the United States what country would the United States bomb? Very few if any could actually think of the overall scenario or situation that could occur primarily because I also suggested that several of the so-called enemy are within our own borders. This threw black paint on the white ceilings that offices are used to seeing. Most likely the correct answer would be a retaliatory process leading to closing off United States borders 'completely'. This will infuriate and create great racial and ethical reasoning within our society today and will be one of the hardest decisions that any sitting president will ever have to make in this coming century for when it happens that individual will instantly turn that torch off that Miss. Liberty holds. It is unimportant to understand the reasoning of such consequences when trading financial markets, during the same time period of the last four years we have had several markets within the commodity markets completely collapsing some giving back more than 4-5 years of their price appreciation within a small 30-50 trading day time frame. Bringing again another negative perception of a projection of coming price evaluation for the entire commodity industry. More funds within the equity side of the business are continuously and willingly buying the market and at any costs, with individual institutions now buying back their own stock willingly and without hesitation the bullishness of the next boom years to come is implanted within each American individual longing for times of past. America is not at war it is engaging in battles that will in time turn into a great world war, these situations need 'great pessimism' to be within the people it usually takes up to ten years for this particular situation to take place. If one was to examine the news fronts and opinions about what is happening you can imagine how difficult it will be for any sitting president to make international decisions when the time comes. Each opinion is so important today but that type of atmosphere is only created in the most optimists periods in history, opinions and individuals slowly burnout this is a time consuming project to allow pessimism to take whole of the human psyche once it does the individual freely and without reservation allows what nature had intended to do all the time. From the Witch Trials of Salem MA in which hysterical individuals were being burned at the stake without consequences of the intended truth, fifteen years of constant hardship economically and physically took great toll on the region allowing the circumstances to take place. Each major American war starting from the Revolutionary War to the last World War created and always follows the same circumstances this time will be no different. Its just starting not ending, you will see the end when opinions start to dim and then slowly die out into flames of not caring to be heard any more, they will throw the towel in, their pessimism will grow within themselves and you will find less opinions not only being written each day but actually disappearing like all photographs. Have a great evening, Z Good night don?t let the bed bugs bite!
brian4
Tis week end starting Thursday at Abbotsford just east of vancouver is the Abbotsford International Air Show which is North America's biggest it is preceded by a 3 day Arms fair and every sidewinder and RPG salesman is already hard at work but the biggest arms merchants at the fair are always the U.S. and the brits. Average attendance for the air Show is 140,000 a day. So I feel privileged Canada's Snowbirds (our version of the Blue Angels) who fly tighter than any Aerobatic Team are doing a 20 minute routine over the beaches of White Rock in an hour as a prelude to the show. If you ever get a chance to catch them pls do they are sensational as are the Blue Angels, only the best of the best, the real top guns fly for teams like these. Being a resort we are busy at this time of year but I must say I am surprised at the hordes of people thundering in here to watch this, especially the number of boats in the Bay, one could walk across the bay without getting wet!
