We had a double agent in Pakistan who was acting as the inside online communications liaison between Al Qaeda operatives. His place is raided, the information revealed (to bolster the cause for the new Orange Alert)...and then his NAME IS REVEALED TO THE PRESS...according to Dr. Rice "on Background" - which promptly leads to the end of a Pakistini sting operation and the rapid departure of Al Qaeda operatives into the hills. This is criminal. This is evidence of something akin to the outing of Valarie Plame. This information was intentionally released by the White House to botch the round up of a bunch of bad guys. What really happened? At whose insistence did it happen? Why? Who are the real bad guys, and who do they work for? TO THE MAST WITH YE! 40-LASHES WITH THE CAT......O'18 TAILS. TO THE MAST, I SAY. The current tax structure is FUBAR anyway... I made a mistake in my tax post. Tax increases take effect in 2005 and 2006. There may well be a post-election attempt to roll back those increases. Having said that Hitt-man has a penchant (always has) for calling the big-ones, he is my kind of guy he doesn't call a spade a spade but rather a fookin Shovel. He has a fragile personality and has had some tragedy over his career but the guy is like trying to hold a beachball under water-he always pops back up. Meetings were held with President Musharraf and with Pakistan's military and intelligence brass including the head of Pakistan?s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) General Mahmoud Ahmad. On the morning of September 11, the three lawmakers Bob Graham, Porter Goss and Jon Kyl (who were part of the Congressional delegation to Pakistan) were having breakfast on Capitol Hill with General Ahmad, the alleged "money-man" behind the 9-11 hijackers. "When the news [of the attacks on the World Trade Center] came, the two Florida lawmakers who lead the House and Senate intelligence committees were having breakfast with the head of the Pakistani intelligence service. Rep. Porter Goss, R-Sanibel, Sen. Bob Graham and other members of the House Intelligence Committee were talking about terrorism issues with the Pakistani official when a member of Goss' staff handed a note to Goss, who handed it to Graham. Bush apparently assured Goss months ago that the CIA job would be his at some future date. Funny how he knew that it would become available... The Whore of Babylon One need look no farther than what has become known as a latter-day Whore of Babylon - the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) of Oct. 1, 2002, the very title of which betrayed a politically correct, but substantively wrong, conclusion: "Iraq's Continuing Programs for Weapons of Mass Destruction." And bear in mind that it was only several months after President Bush decided to attack Iraq that Tenet commissioned that estimate. Not unreasonably, Congress was wondering about the views of the intelligence community, and the White House needed congressional acquiescence. No problem. "Slam-dunk" Tenet, following White House instructions, ensured that the estimate was cooked to the recipe of Cheney's tart speech of August 26, 2002. "We know that Saddam has resumed his efforts to acquire nuclear weapons," Cheney said, and the estimate Tenet signed gave belated endorsement - with "high confidence," no less - to that lie. The intelligence process, of course, was not the only thing undermined. So was the Constitution. Various drafts of that NIE, reinforced with heavy doses of "mushroom-cloud" rhetoric, were used to deceive congressmen and senators into ceding to the executive their prerogative to declare war - the all-important prerogative that the framers of the Constitution took great care to reserve exclusively to our elected representatives in Congress. What was actually happening was clear to intelligence anal cysts, active and retired. We Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity were not the only ones to expose it as clearly and often as the domesticated US media would allow. But what about CIA alumnus Porter Goss, then in his sixth year as chairman of the House intelligence oversight committee? Republican party loyalist first and foremost, Goss chose to give an entirely new meaning to "oversight." Even when it became clear that the "mushroom cloud" reporting was based mostly on a forgery, he just sat back and watched it all happen. He arrived on the 4th of September, one week before 9-11, on what was described as a routine visit of consultations with his U.S. counterparts. Mahmoud's week-long presence in Washington has triggered speculation about the agenda of his mysterious meetings at the Pentagon and National Security Council. Officially, he is on a routine visit in return to CIA Director George Tenet's earlier visit to Islamabad. Official sources confirm that he met Tenet this week. He also held long parleys with unspecified officials at the White House and the Pentagon. But the most important meeting was with Marc Grossman, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs. One can safely guess that the discussions must have centred around Afghanistan . . . and Osama bin Laden. What added interest to his visit is the history of such visits. Guest Posted August 11, 2004 Report Share Posted August 11, 2004 "...John Millis, the late Executive Director of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) who allegedly committed suicide on June 4, 2000, died a day after he forced the CIA to release a controversial report dealing with cocaine trafficking. Police in Fairfax, Virginia still refuse to reveal the contents of a suicide note allegedly written by Millis. On May 11, a few weeks prior to his death, Millis authored a report on the CIA alleged links to cocaine smuggling by Nicaraguan drug rings to gangs in Los Angeles. Although the HPSCI report, like previous reports by the CIA and Justice Department, cleared the CIA of any wrongdoing, some informed observers believe that Millis may have actually written a different version of the report that was more critical of the CIA involvement in drug trafficking and that he may have been silenced because he knew too much. Former White House counsel and Clinton confidant Charles Ruff was reportedly briefed on HPSCI findings by Millis. Ruff died on November 20, 2000. His body was found outside a shower in his home by his wife. Police ruled the death as resulting from natural causes and not foul play. It was later determined that Ruff suffered an apparent heart attack. HPSCI ranking member Representative Julian Dixon, who was also briefed on the HPSCI cocaine report, died suddenly from a heart attack on December 8, 2000, a few weeks after Ruff death. There is also some reason to believe that Millis was unhappy with Goss reluctance to investigate the CIA handling or mishandling of alleged Mossad penetration of the White House communications system and its failure to investigate the identity of Israel alleged high-level U.S. government mole, the so-called Mega. Goss reportedly said he was concerned that Israel had penetrated White House communications but he did not want to pursue any investigation of the matter.
