I don't get this opportunity anywhere else in my life. As to when the terrorists will strike again, I wonder why they would want to get in the way of a perfectly good train wreck? If every time you strike you lose your highly trained people, you have to allocate those resources carefully. Right now they only have to be patient - like us playing the stock market. They were doing a documentary, and interviewing someone in front of the Twin Towers because it was such a recognizable symbol of New York. The cameraman heard the plane and aimed the camera up because he thought it would be an interesting shot to show a plane flying over the city. That film did not air the day of the disaster. It really is as simple as mjkst27 just said: " I see the 911 events as being similar. No weirdness, just reality. Someone planned it and executed it, and they didn't do it in 10 minutes on a dare." Perhaps I will sound "Un-Patriotic," but I have lived a long time and watched many "horrible events." Bad things happen all over the world. 3000 people died on one day, not just Americans, but people from many nations. Now, compare that to over 6,000 Iraqi's killed by an agressor in this past year. What's the difference? Do we think they don't feel the same grief over their citizens? or what? I feel bad for them too. Most of my life, I have been around R&D communities; my ex was a Professor of Civil Engineering, so are my 3 kids, all of us in and out of many research labs. There's a professional methodology of how to examine things and discern what failed/what will take us forward. That has not been sufficiently applied with 911. The safety of all high rise structures is dependent on fully understanding why those buildings collapsed even tho designed to withstand airplane crashes, even tho built with the finest of steel that has never ever before been destroyed by fire. I read every word of the Gov't engineering report published on the WTC1 and WTC2 failures. The investigative engineers were not admitted to the crash site and they were not able to examine the failed structural members that were quickly hauled away. What kind of a study is that? It makes me angry because gov't intervention has prevented so many FACTS from reaching the investigators who would give us the solid answers we seek. And never mind that the inexperienced pilot that "hit" the Pentagon, executed a sharp 135 degree so accurately and located the new, just completed, not fully occupied side of the building. Rummy hadn't moved in yet. Even so, that crash took out the DOD Financial Computers that I and others across the country used daily and the investigation of the missing $3 Trillion from DOD accounts has been buried somewhere. So I am not some bleeding-heart, emotional conspiracy theorist, and I think that most of the thinking, intelligent, analytical people here are not either. Most of us know when we are being deceived or misled. On the other hand, Greenspan has told us that Americans need to be retrained. So maybe that's the problem. brian4 Posted July 26, 2004 Report Share Posted July 26, 2004 What Smells like Limburger Cheese is that within minutes all U.S. international flights were diverted to Canada, all flights landed safely all passengers were billeted for two to 3 days and we are talking about hundreds of flights. Yet the same system that accomplished that yeoman task in a few hours couldn't track the second Jet and the one headed for the Pentagon-Gimmee a break. F-18's and F-16's from RCAF Comox were flying over my house all day escorting American and other Airliners into Vancouver International yet NO fighters were up in the U.S.?? It smells, in fact it reeks! Plus who ordered the Airliner to fly the Bin-Laden Family out of the U.S. one would think they would have been picked up and held for a long, long interoggation-wouldn't one!
