We have a Federal Election in Canada on Monday and for some time it has looked like we will have a Minority Government with neither the incumbent Liberals or the Conservatives having enough seats in Parliament to form a majority.  Now with 2 days to go comes the strangest twist of all-Ralph Nader has sent an open letter to the Canadian Press urging Canadians to support the New Democrats in order to block the Conservatives from taking power.  Now aside from this being none of Naders business the New Democrats are a motley collection of extreme left wing psuedo-socialists, trade unions, legalize pot groups and Gay and lesbian organizations along with the usual collection of anti-free traders and lets build a wall around Canada and live in log cabin groups.  They always win a handfull of seats and add little to the National Debate other than acting as a consience for the downtrodden.  So sure there is a place for them but PUHLEEZE not as power brokers in a minority situation.  Ralphie please go away and  find a set of teeth that fit as well as a suit that does too.

Still using UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED to meddle in other affairs. Nader,

check your shoes after that trek through doggydoo central.

Wow...the matrix is here, and I'm unable to post the name of a site or the link without them changing it.

Plunger, I believe Doc has implemented a filter that alters references to certain websites. This was done on purpose, and is not "The Matrix".

Doc, correct me if I'm wrong.

I seriously doubt that doc has installed software which would change the name of this particular site to "morerubbish" - which is how it ends up poseted here if you try to post a link

Yes it is one of the two sites which disturb me deeply. I believe they are thinly veiled hate sites. I would simply request that you not work around the filters to attempt to link to them. I also do not want to get into a discussion regarding my personal feelings about their content, and I certainly do not want to promote additional traffic to them. I will leave Plunger's reference in place, out of my respect and admiration for him.

Regardless of what I do in this regard, some will find me to be wrong. The last time I took a stand, an uproar ensued, resulting in several people quitting the site, and destroying a significant body of content on the board in the process. (The main reason the delete button has been eliminated from the board.) I don't want that to happen again. But as a Jew, I would certainly prefer that this board not be used to promote the views represented on those sites. I would hope that my wishes can be respected without rancor.

I think once (at least) they had some anti-semetic stuff

and Doc, in his authority, put a filter in here - like the fornicate filter.

Don't get paranoid on us ... but put tape on your doors anyway ... just in case.

I have listened to Ralph Nader many times, read several books about him and by him, and followed Common Cause many years ago. I agree with most of his opinions. I think his opinions and policies would be better than what we have

seen in the past 40 years or so.

His vice presidential running mate is also a man I respect a great deal.

I guess thats what makes the world go round. Differing opinions.

Just hate to see parties like the Republicans, taken over by so many

hippo crates and pick pockets. The word conservative has been greatly distorted, IMHO.

Great find MH! So he wasn't referring to the BoJ president after all(or is it the Japanese Min of Fin?).

:D :D :D

Was someone calling Fukui-san?

BOJ's Fukui says too early to discuss ending super-loose credit policy

AFX Europe (Focus); Jun 25, 2004

TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - Bank of Japan chief Toshihiko Fukui said it was too early to discuss ending the central bank's super-loose credit policy aimed at whipping deflation.

"It is too premature to discuss the post-quantitative easing monetary policy framework," Fukui said at an afternoon press conference.

Fukui said speaking after the BoJ's nine-member policy board voted unanimously at a one-day meeting today to leave its super-loose credit policy unchanged.

"It is hard to envisage that the 'Tankan' or CPI data (to be released in the future) will show the result that will affect our view on the trend of prices," Fukui said.

I was trying to link to a specific article that I thought spelled out a very compelling history of how wars have been caused in the past, back to the days of Rome. It included media maniuplations throughout recent history which have led to public approval for war. Much of it struck me as logical. It focused on the present administration and their lies leading us to war, not anything more.
