ShamPoo
No idea how anyone could see manipulation in this market. ?They? are working it 24/7 so we may as well look for lack of manipulation instead.

Guest
Any thoughts as to why the XAU has been outperforming the HUI since Friday? Stocks in XAU but not in HUI: ABX (up), PDG (up), AEM (flat to down), AU (flat to down). Stocks in HUI but not in XAU: CDE (down a lot), GLG (down a lot), HL (down a lot). Even if we don't take the component weighting into account, the XAU is being lifted by the big hedgers (ABX, PDG, even AU) and HUI is taken down by CDE, GLG and HL. Does that answer your question? Or were you asking why the hedgers like ABX and PDG are up and non-hedgers like CDE, GLG and HL are down more than 2%? If the latter - I don't know.
