I don't know WHY those Carriers are out there BUT it is definitely a concern. That is the largest deployment since WW-2 and the cost of a deployment of that size is staggering with the deficit the way it is-where are the bucks coming from??? And of course WHAT are we not seeing.

What kind of fuel do all those ships use?

and how much?

Must be massive

and a drain on world supply of oil?

Don't forget that 6 Aug 04 is the date the predicted

nuclear war in the Middle East is expected...

unless we turn the collective conscience more positive?

As economic opportunity in the US declines people will do what they have always done.

Emigrate.

Has the US had a period of net emigration in the last 100 years?

Only in the movies. This is a great topic, probably best reserved for LOB. Will some of us be picking up and moving to places like China, Brazil & Russia? In his Barron's interview Seth Glickenhaus said, if he were starting over, he would move to China.

Is bad here still better than the upside elsewhere?

since this markets so called bottom.........the rise has been

accompanied by a solid downtrend in volume.

and just lately we are treated to statistic that specialist buying

is at very high levals..........could be constued as insider

propping if you will

this with sky high puts..........are these puts just needed for insiders

to delta hedge the rig job?

volume must start accompanying this "bull".........or divergance

becomes unsustainable.

I'm a newbie but something is very wrong here- this feels like much more than a 50 point down Dow. IMHO it is being propped in the context of systematic selling, even though volume is low. Feels like a flight to safety in progress, but why not to metals?

Maybe I shouldn't buy this dip...
