brian4
Patriot I would sell it before the split and then re short it after the split-they are diluting their stock massively plus they are 100% dependant on new home building which is about to fall off a cliff. Lock Limit Down
Nice little 2% bounce in the HGX Was there some news I missed? Did Al do a surprise rate cut or did the bond suddenly recover all its recent losses. Who are the proud new owners of the housing stocks on that little flurry? Or just good old short covering. The bears are in for a war all the way to the bottom. Locked and loaded.
Guest
is it just me or does Bush's speech seem particulary bad today ? He sounds hoarse, unsure and looks troubled. As former Secretary of Treasury O'Neil has already stated, the GWB administration from day 1 in early 2001 was committed to a plan of projecting US power in the mid-east - with regime change and control of Iraq central to that plan. Rummy and Chain-knee designed and pushed that plan even before they took office. For GWB to not support Rummy now would be to repudiate his entire Presidency and the war in Iraq. Therefore I would expect that GWB will defend actions in Iraq no matter what the cost or embarassment. How true. Richard Clarke's Against all Enemies from the transition the emphasis has been on Iraq while Al Qaeda and Usama bin Laden were much lower priorities. Consequently, several resignations occured from the highly dedicated and qualified personnel.
