Yoshaviah could quote it for us, but recall that bit in Revelations about them throwing their gold and silver in the streets? little early in the book's final chapter to be scripting end times, doncha think? doubt any of us will be wearing burlap and palm thongs anytime soon... funny thing about silver, went trolling with some dimes over the weekend and caught quite a few blackfin tuna. gold is fine, imo we are seeing the awakening, the more they screw with it... the bigger the trade. growler 0
It's nice to see AL & Co. had such a productive weekend. Derivative problem...there is no derivative problem. It's normal to see a so-called sophistocated market gap up because someone farts to the left instead of the right.

I think they can keep this market going a few more days and 10-20 Spoo points, if they can hold the dollar up. Holding the dollar up would indeed be the matrix triumphing over nature. The brown one 0
Korea is obviously new to the big smelly farting game--maybe just as Thailand was in '97/'98. But maybe it means that Al will fart all the harder! Da Boyz love that.
Ned38 0
I have been using this chart for a few weeks or so http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.web?c=$compq,uu[l,a]daclniay[p][vc60][iue12,26,9!lc20!lh14,3][j8400176,y]&listNum=2 Not sure whether this weeks bounce will have the strength to recapture the 2nd lowest trendline and break through the downtrend lines I have drawn. Doesn't look like it to me
machinehead 0
Worldwide spending on UAV [unmanned Aerial Vehicle] development is likely to run to about $3.35 billion in 2012. That's up from $1.88 billion this year. Wall Street is taking note. "UAVs could be the next very big growth area," says Jun Zhao, a defense anal cyst for U.S.-based fund manager Federated Investors. Lord, I can see it now through my rose-coloured glasses. The rainbow-arched blue sky filled with swarms of dancing UAV butterflies, darting happily hither and thither in a syncopated aerial ballet ... as investors cheer deliriously from the grandstands, their bulging pockets jingling with coin. How can we get in on the "ground floor," as it were? Midair miracles

But what's this ? 8:36AM Smith Barney downgrades Semi and Semi Equip groups : Smith Barney trims weighting on the Semiconductor and Semi Equipment industry groups to Market Weight from Overweight after a more than 92% gain yr-to-date. Firm indicates that its proprietary Semi-Indicator is now flashing caution after Oct semi capital equipment orders jumped 12% yr-over-yr. Believes that as new production capacity comes on line, chip pricing may falter and upward earnings revisions trends may slip; thinks valuation concerns could become pronounced if earnings momentum slows. chibear 0
Gotta hand it to The Matrix. They really pulled off a heck of a jamjob in the Overnights, with no real news to speak of. No upgrades, no bullhorning, no "beat by a penny" news. Just brute force in the futures pits. Washington Times' Bill Sammon was just on Fox. He's very plugged in to this administration. Says he believes the Pres. will repeal the steel tariffs by Friday. That could explain the dollar strength and, if so (THEY know), would buoy the market through the holiday. fxfox 97
"Cut More................Care Less" - Dr. Jack Mckee, The Doctor Birdie, i once saw that film by accidnet. Although it is only a TV film it was impressive. To those who dont know the story: That doctor - when he was 100% sane and in good shape - made jokes about his cancer patients, that was not jsut kidding he really made jokes and didnt treat his patients with respect. In the end he got cancer by himself, he couldnt talk anymore, lung cancer it was. He wasnt joking anymore.

mjkst27 0
Many "investors" have capital loss carry-forwards from the boom years just waiting to offset fresh new capital gains from Bubble II. As a result I have been expecting a weak stock market into year end as said investors take this years ridiculous profits to a degree that they will have little or no capital gains tax bill due in April 2004. However, if the primary reflation tool to be implemented by Al & Co. is indeed the fabled Wealth Effect, then I would expect the stock market to be firmly bid through year end (i.e. ESF, Trez, Fed, whoever intervention). This would essentially function as a helicopter drop of cash into the pockets of long-suffering casino participants...er, equity investors. Step right up and place your bets.
