The dikes(sp) have been plugged with all fingers(sp and chortled reference to a prior post), yet we are going nowhere. More plugging will get us...nowhere. The nation/world is needing a social catharsis, as such events are as therapeutic as they are punitive. Interest cuts, feeds, Sir Speedy PrintsALot on maximal strength Viagra. All for naught, except for political "stability". I am amazed, nationally speaking, at the ennui surrounding this event. Even if there was lightning DIRECTLY over this plant, tell me that a bolt of lightning has more gigawatts than a power grid for 50 milllion people. But being a bear, I'm naturally skeptic and skewed towards assuming the worse. But the country is mum, numb, and dumb. Think : what if we find out tommorrow that a bomb threat had been received 10 minutes before the outage? Or a Stinger missile is found at the source? If we had a VIX of 40, I might think of this as a bottom. But, IMHO, we have started the downward cascade, regardless of what happens tommorrew. Bearman is right. crooked_analyst Posted August 15, 2003 Report Share Posted August 15, 2003 Dusty, ...and I DON'T disagree with you...I just think they have to park the cash in the Bonds first, so I think we go down first or as we enter the close of the bond mkt....also, since tomorrow is Friday, Comex will dump on gold into the close...first significant rally should come as the Fed releases the O/W feed, and if significant, will rally there...if not, look for the 1:30 EST +/- as the starting pistol....and finally, as always, the last 30 minutes is worth a 50% retrace of any loss.....desperation is setting in. NOT I may not have been aboard the good ship BubbleII but doesn't mean I missed anything. And don't blame Bearman, it wasn't him. Clearly the parallels between this rally and the rally off the 32 lows are now there for all to see. Still there's no need for a contest.
